Stupid question I know, but please define barrel cover and why they are needed. I'm not being arrogant or stupid but I just never really had to use one.
Its a heavy cloth 'condom' that is put over the end of your barrel and held by elastic. it is to safely catch accidental discharged BBs and protect people in a staging area when all the correct eye safety might not be worn at the time.

cant you just keep your gun empty when not in game?
You never know when there's one in the hop-up. Hell, I had a GBB pistol go off once when I put a magazine in it. Shot my friend in the knee.

I've seen dozens of "empty" accidental discharges over the years.

You'd be surprised how many people think they clear the guns and in reality there is still a bb or 2 in the hop up. All you have to do is ask for a barrel condom at the front desk where you pay and they will give one to you. Its a requirement at Fightertown that everybody including paintballers have to follow. Personally I think its a great rule. You dont want to end up shooting someone in the face with an accidental discharge and have a problem.

Oh ok thank you. Would a heavy cloth
With some type of fastener so that it doesn't fall off the barrel work?
It cannot be homemade.  I have them at the park.  They can be bought at almost any paintball/airsoft store and cost around $3.

Evike sells em for A DOLLAR.

http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=24715

And the shipping only runs from $5.00 to $48. plus change depending how fast one needs it, a lot cheaper to support your local dealer so he will be there to support you when you need it...

Henry has several of them that he is always willing to lend out, a lot of times free of charge. Just be sure to take care of them and return them before you go home. Most importantly thank him for it!
People ask me how to find me, i respond by telling them to look for the guy with the bugle.

Oh that sounds like good playing weather. I'll try and make it but my dad is turning a half a century years old so we shall see.

True, but I was more letting everyone know for the next time they shop on Evike. Throw 5 of em in your cart and they won't cost any extra shipping. Obviously it would be plain stupid to order just a single barrel cover.....
