Mounting a flashlight
« on: August 04, 2010, 01:09:19 PM »
I am looking for a way to mount a flashlight on Standard M4 handguards. I don't want to buy rail system because I want To keep the cost low. If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Well you could get some pvc piping or clamps and carefully drill some holes into the handguard and secure them that way you could also super glue it if you don't want to drill.

Another suggestion could also be to zip tie on a flashlight

I have found these a useful way to have rails but not spend $100 on getting a full rail.

Now in the future i would invest your money in getting a rail. I bought the magpul rail for $30 at Gearbox and it is an amazing rail for the price.

I'm really looking for a cleaner way to mount it. No tape/glue/zipties. I have been looking around and I like this rail. Does anyone know a reliable place to get one?

it has been proven in history that for a group to survive its government must be over thrown from time to time. my fear is that this will come to our lands way to soon.

You can also get something similar to this:

Just mounts right onto your barrel.

Thanks, but I already went with the front sight rail mount. Works great because it places the flashlight right above the handguards. Easy to reach the pressure switch with your thumb.
