go on a weekend during the afternoon. I've been a few times and it's usually not that crowded and its a fairly small place. the first time i went i talked to one of the guys that worked there and he let me play for 10 bucks cause it was my first time and i was an AA forum member. Cant remember the guys name but im sure there is a tempe paintball thread around here about getting a first time discount.

But seriously, alteclansig, SO, and Old Dog are on the money. Nearly any day (sans Friday) is packed with both newbie and experienced players. Some are quite good and provide an excellent challenge. If you have transport out to Tempe, it's worth the drive.

Thursdays WILL have excellent players bringing their A-game, so be prepared for that. Saturdays are a mix and sometimes packed full of kiddos out for a birthday party. Sundays are usually relaxed and very mellow. The crowd varies greatly, so you might want to call ahead of time to see how it is. Fridays, as said before, can either be a complete wash or provide some very small, fast moving games with players that can't make it any other day.

Not sure if mentioning AA gets you a huge discount anymore, but it's worth a shot.

Thursdays rock.
On a personal note, we enjoy duking it out with anyone who plays honest. Gay or not, doesn't matter at all.

i guess im just unlucky when it comes to getting in a game with a bunch of people at tempe but i prefer matches with fewer people than a bunch a players. Ithink you get the discount as a first timer AA only. Lastly for the gun requirements I'd say if it shoots 350 or less you should be good and if your using common sense cause your playing in a cqb environment you will be fine (no sniper rifles or crazy long barrel guns, i saw a kid who used a sig 550 at a cqb field once O_O)

Bring whatever you have, and if the gun shoots hot, for 10 bucks they'll rent you a M4, mask, ammo, etc.
You don't need any kind of BDU's or whatnot either. Street clothes are fine. We usually get a crowd by 6ish in the evening, and run till 11pm.

Try to avoid a dark tinted lens on your mask, last time I went they did a lot of lights off games, so I couldn't see two feet in front of me.
