General Off-Topic Discussion / Hello again...
« on: April 28, 2003, 05:32:20 AM »
Guess who. [:D] I'm sorry I haven't been here in a long, long, LONG time.... There are many different reasons why I haven't been to games, haven't turned in a waiver, paid the dues and basically haven't even been around here at all. School, work, money, medical, etc.

Paco, I'm not sure if I am still on the AA roster, but you can go ahead and take me off if you are cleaning out the lists. I really don't know when the next time I will be able to play is (it has been well over a year now I believe?), and there really isn't much of a point keeping me on the sheets if I'm not active. (Maybe you already did, I don't know ;) I would like to keep this forum account if possible. I just might stop by every once in a while and say hello or put in my opinion. If not, then I'll go ahead and say it now:

You guys have been the BEST airsofters I have EVER played with. Every skirmish was a blast; I only saw a few small arguments (pretty much nil) and Paco and anyone/everyone else that manages the site and/or games has done a great job of organizing everything and creating the only *real* airsoft league in Arizona. It has DEFINITELY been better playing with the AA crew than with the guys in Minnesota, California and anywhere else I have played.

So, for anyone I know, knew, or have ever played with at an AA skirmish, I thank you for the great times and hope you guys keep on playing for a long time to come. AA is seriously the best group of airsofters I have ever met, and I'm sure anyone else visiting from another state or league would agree. It was fun, and maybe I'll see some of you again at a skirmish in the future. I will definitely hold my interest in airsofting, and hope to shoot a few of you again someday. [}:)] Thanks, guys.

Damnit...my cheapo GBB KWC Glock 17 has been firing two BBs every time I pull the trigger (and the slide has been sticking a lot) so I figure it was time to lube the gun and clean it out pretty well. I haven't taken very good care of it because it is such a cheap gun and is just a backup, I never use it, etc... Actually, I have NEVER cleaned the inside of the gun...just the magazine. So, I start taking it apart, and then some little tiny fragment of a [plastic]piece just falls out! I completely dismantled the gun and found the rest of the piece sitting in the lower shell. I have no idea where the thing came from, but it was broken anyways...so I lubed the gun, put it back together and loaded up the mag to see how the gun works without the missing piece. Well...with one pull of the trigger, it emptied my ENTIRE clip.... LOL, it doesn't seem to really use any more, or much more gas than a normal shot...but 12 rounds in one shot...LMAO! I wonder if it was the missing piece or too much lube...haha. I guess I'll play around with it a while and see if it acts any differently. My sidearm may have to be just a one-shot deal now. MINI SHOTGUN! =P

I don't think you can really compare those 3 games. They each have their own style of gameplay. America's Army tries to be somewhat of a tactical simulation. Halo is arcadey, but fun and has a storyline...kinda. UT2003 is just deathmatch, plain and simple (well it does have CTF, etc but its still deathmatch).

I'll wait until Unreal2 comes out. ;)

Now Half-Life...I still think thats the best [50?] bucks I ever spent on a PC game. =P Ohhhh the fun I have had with it at LAN parties....

I'm really glad the engine has improved a LOT since it was first released with America's Army. AA is too slow in the framerate department IMHO. I hope they somehow upgrade to the latest version of the UT2003 engine...which I know I constantly get over 80 FPS in. In AA, I get maybe 20-45, max.

In Tucson also, I live 2 miles south of the UA. Contact info in profile.

Out of shape. Need exercise.

Have M4 Tactical, MP5-A4 Navy, SPAS 12, Remington 870, SA-80. All my other guns are broken and I use them for spare parts when I break my current guns from running too much current through them and melting the gearbox. =D

Heh...sounds like a personal ad.

Lasers look really creepy if your playing at night and it's really foggy. =P

"Oww...what was that for you t. The more compact weight and size should also handle a metal slide kit alot better. The only problem with the trademarks is I heard KSC is getting/had a suit against them by Glock Inc. Apparently the G17 and 18c models were a little too real, so it would be hard, if even at all possible, to find a KSC Glock 19 with accurate trademarks. You can however buy a custom slide that has the real trades at Den Trinity (look at URL below) by Shooter Design. They make high quality slides. Expensive but worth it, check it out.

Is that silencer made out of black paper... ;) I made a silencer out of spare parts for my tracer unit, and some foam I got from a Michaels art supply store. Worked good. =p

My accuracy and power was pretty good when it was firing just one BB, but when it fires two or more, accuracy SUCKS. The BBs kinda fire in a spread, like a shotgun blast. My distance was never very good for this gun. I'm not good at judging distance, but it would maybe go 35 feet when working. I haven't tested distance much yet in its current state, and the same with power. I'll probably do that soon, but I'm *really* low on gas, so I may not be able to. It appears to be slightly less power (some of the BBs go full blast, whereas others just...flop out 10-15 feet).

EDIT: Strange...just tested it again, now it won't fire at all. Seems as if there is no contact between the trigger and the little gas release button on the magazine. I'll have to mess with it later. Now my AR15 is broken again...arg.
