Pouch placement is a matter of personal preference. Like your mags on high on your chest? Fine, as long as you can access them with speed. If you have to fumble or it takes to long to do a proper reload, then you might want to consider putting the pouch in a different place. GP pouches don't matter much, unless you put mission critical stuff inside of them.
