Location: Mt. Ord. Approx 4 miles north along Hwy 87 just past the Bushnell Tanks turn off (Sunflower). From there you will go 6 miles off road to the AO. Look for a camping area to the right of the road. The road is narrow in some spots, and a little rough in others. It is recommended to take a truck/SUV to this AO. Drive slowly and safely and you should be okay.
The Story: A recent incursion by the Nation of Green across the border to the Nation of Tan has resulted in the captured of 2 Tan soldiers. The Nation of Green wants a prisoner exchange, but the Nation of Tan will not allow a prisoner exchange and considering the situation an unreasonable act of war. The Nation of Tan launches a full scale aerial bombardment of the border region on the Green side to limit the effectiveness of any indirect fire weapons. This however has only a limited impact on the Nation of Green ability to launch short range missiles across the border in the the Nation of Tan. Nation of Tan ground forces will need to me deployed across the border into the Nation of Green to destroy the ability to launch these missiles and rockets into Nation of Tan.
Tan vs. Green BDU camo patterns. Universal pattern camo will be placed where needed for balance. PM or email me your team preference.

I'm guessing mikey's FYM comment means For Your Mom.
Also I'm going in as green.
-
No, it's f*ck your mom.
-
No, it's f*ck your mom.
LOL
Eh I was following the trend. Everything sort of leaned towards F meaning For, at least in my mind it did.
-
Well, it was more like, let's play the three letter acronym game. HFS, this has been done on the Vestibule before. :D
-
how about QFT this is going to be an Airball game of unlimited proportions!
-
Well, it was more like, let's play the three letter acronym game. HFS, this has been done on the Vestibule before. :D
Ugh don't remind me of that place. The last I heard that place was falling to the "Superhero" riots, idiots just posting pictures of superheros in every post and acting like they were said superhero.
-
im all ready for for another campout in prescott. Im always green

Tan
Is the nation of pink going bitch when we defend our borders though? =P
-
Green! Im gonna be there this time dammit!!
-

Well, where's it gonna be?...
Get it 5k' or higher elevation and I might go.
Chip

Yea, I'm with Mooncruiser on the 5k+ 8)
-
Im looking for a spot, dont worry...
;)
-
Well, where's it gonna be?...

Chip
How does 5K+ make a difference?
-
Temperature.
-
Temperature.
Roger that!
-
Djmtott, some guys can't handle 100* temps for very long...Unfortunately.
-
Djmtott, some guys can't handle 100* temps for very long...Unfortunately.
ROFL, I'm one of them!
Most of the time when people talk about differences at varying altitudes the first thing that comes to my mind is gravity, like how the Colorado Rockies can hit more home runs at home.
So at first when I read the post about wanting higher than 5k I was thinking it had something to do with the speed or trajectory of BBs or something like that.
-
Well, it KIND of does. Like, you'll notice chrono abberations if you ever go to OP:LC, or play in California, since we're so close to sea level here.
-
nvm
-
Air Pressure and Air Denisity.
The reason why the ball flys further is that the air is less dense and "lighter" than normal air. The same force is still applied to the ball and the force of gravity upon the ball. The only difference is the decrease of resistence due to the lack of dense air.
While if you got closer the air would be more dense and cause the ball to fly less and fall faster due to increase resistence due to air. In both cases the same force is applied to the ball and the temp is the same. Cold Air creates more resistence and hot air creates less so adjust.
Which is also why that chronos will be thrown off. Depending on altitude, temp., and air pressure the BB's FPS will change from what you chronoed it from home.
-
Djmtott, some guys can't handle 100* temps for very long...Unfortunately.
And some of us love it
-
Uhh and the higher up you are..the harder it is to breathe..Just incase no one mentioned that...Thats why alot of professional athletes train in higher altitudes..I know alot of boxers do.
Mikeyyyyy Put me as green.
-
Well I'm finnally back so why not celebrate the opening of the new semster with an airsoft game with all my favorite airsoft buddies?
...besides, I'd never live it down if Andy came to a game and I didn't. :P
EDIT: Oh yah. And put me for either Mikey.
-

I figured they just said that because 5k to them would mean some place like Prescott, I mean my ears may pop along the way, but I doubt I will notice any appreciable difficulty in breathing there, than I do in Phoenix.
-
Hey, when you sweat all day workin new construction, the last thing you want to do is run around in the valley heat for fun. At least the higher altitude makes it tollorable.
-
Really though, five thousand feet isn't gonna cause any real distress breathing. Now, eight to fourteen thousand, however.
Prescott, 5k.. Flag, eight.
Cooler, more fun.

There's a preeetttyyyy good chance this game will take place between the elevations of 6,000 to 7,128 feet.

I will have to remember to bring my oxygen...
-
Tentatively list me as participating in this event. If all goes according to plan I should be geared up and ready to run.
List me as Tan since they seem to be outnumbered, but I should be able to go Green if needed.
-
If it's high, I'm yer guy.
MT. Ord! this will be fun. I'm on for green.

Directions to Mt. Ord Please .. from Tucson of course
Thanks in advance.
-
What time is this game?
-
Please be at the Ba'ja Conoco READY TO LEAVE at 0700, 26AUG.
Dan & Benn :
Follow Chris :)
Off the top of my head, I-10 to AZ-143 NORTH (that's way important unless you wanna take a tour of the airport) to AZ-202 EAST to AZ-87 NORTH.
Double check that but I am pretty sure that's the best way.

I can't make this one. Wish I could.....
-
How far is Mt Ord from the Conoco?
I'm hoping to be able to go, for tan.
-
About 40 minutes. It's 4.1 miles past the Bushnell Tanks turnoff.
-
I'm in for green.
-
Only thing the alititude is going to affect really is your ability to recover from exhausting your lungs. You can sprint like a mo-fo, but once you start to try and recover the oxygen used, it takes a bit longer. On distance runs, the altitude can kick your ass(and your skins ass if you don't wear sunscreen).
-
got some time off work! I am gonna go tan, cuz thats how I roll!
-
ACU or CoolKid Cams for me
-
Cool weather + Airsoft > LSAT class, so count me in for tan.
-
What temperatures are we looking at for this event?
-
I also got ACU's if needed.
-
Count me in for Tan.
-
i'll be there on tan please.

I'll Probably camp, even if we can't have fires.
-
Camping sounds awesome. Someday when I win the lottery I'll have to buy some camping equipment along with airsoft gear...
-
I wish I could camp, but I am scared of pooping without a toilet; that and Joe might try to offer me another "body massage".

Camping sounds awesome, but the possibility exists that the locks on the house would be changed by the time I got back home, so I'll have to pass. :(

Vince, are you camping out, or will you get up before all of us to meet and greet?
-
I just need a general place of where it is so I have a good timetable.
My parents are going out of town later on that day. Of course I get the shaft job of gaurding the DB from my brother. If the cops catch him one more time riding they are gonna take the bike away.
NM I see it.
-
Get a new brother if he is causing that much trouble.
I think they offer good trade in prices at child services these days. Lol.
-
Oh, just thought of something: if the road to the AO is pretty rough, my dinky Saturn's probably not going to appreciate it. Is there somewhere along the way I can leave it and hop in with someone who has a more rugged vehicle?
-
Meet everyone at the Conoco before 0700. There maybe somone that you can hitch a ride with.
-
Hey uhhh...Someone PM me...I need a ride from the conoco or something..or Ill drive to someones house if its on the wayyyyy.
Let me know guys. Totally forgot..
-

Will do. Just wondering if Conoco is going to like my Saturn in their parking lot all morning, though.
-
Hey Fella's
Because of the storms up North, I belive that Fire Restrictions are lifted. I'll check with the US Forest Service and BLM before we roll out...
I'm going ACU baby!

Yeah, there's no restrictions.

Shit yeah, I'm camping. I'm just way cool and I'm wakin up early so I can drive back and lead this convoy here.

My boys will not be able to make the convoy on Friday...Are people meeting up at the Station on Sat. morning for a second convoy in? If so, 0700??
-
Yes, the Friday is ONLY FOR CAMPING.
I will be at the Conoco on Saturday 26AUG at SEVEN IN THE MORNING. WE ARE LEAVING AT SEVEN IN THE MORNING. BE ON TIME.
Not 7:01.
I've left people before.
Lightning can always strike twice.

Damn, I stopped by the Tempe JT today to get some Excel biodegradeables, but they told me they'd sold out of them for Lion Claws. Can I get away with using the freebie BB's I got with my gun or does anyone have some extras they can sell me?
-
I'll be the obligatory ACU guy.

I'm not as sore as I am sunburnt, but I guess that serves me right for not getting out of the house more often.
-
Great AO, good fights and tactics all day. Green did a great job keeping us on our toes. I'm sorry to all those I shot in the face this game there were 10 or 12 of you but I gotta take what targets are presented to me. For those that camped thanks for showing up and for the night games, no moon and dark as #$%@.
Good Times!!!

On green we had some really good leaders, Mikey and Drew. Both of those guys kicked a$s.
As far as the camelback hoses and gas...do tell.
-
As far as the camelback hoses and gas...do tell.
I can tell my part...
I had a hydrastorm pack for quite a while and was never used. So I pulled out the bladder and filled it up, only to find that it had a huge hole in it, so it was a total loss.
Later Vince asked if he could have the hose. I figured I'd get a new hose when I buy a new bladder anyway, so I let him have it.
Anyway, I'm not really good at remembering names, since I met just about everyone for the first time, but someone's car was almost out of gas, and they tried to use my hose to siphon gas out of other cars so they could get the car back to the gas station.
There was no puking (damn!) but I guess the hose wasn't long enough for it to work.
-
I did manage to inhale a lot of gasoline fumes with that hose, my lungs felt like shit the next morning.
Driving by the "town" of sunflower on the way to the game and seeing that it wasnt really a town and didnt have a gas station was a pretty big "F*CK!" moment.
