LOL... the barn got trashed... that's kinda funny, but tragic in a way.

Are the bees that much of a problem? If you're wearing the right clothes (ie full military uniform) and not kicking their hive they shouldn't harass you.  I've played around bees at the ranch and at Badger Springs and have never been stung.  In the worst possible of all cases, if someone does get chased by relentless bees, hop in the back of my truck and I'll drive you at high speed down the road.

I think we've been lucky so far, as for the "if someone gets stung" if these are the "africanized" bee's one sting is all that is needed to send them crazy. All bee's have a pheomone that is released with the stinger, the afrincanized bee's react stronger to this chemical attractant than the "normal" european bee's.  Since they react to this "smell" getting the stung person out of the area is a good Idea, BUT that doesn't mean the bee's won't already be in the stinging mode.

If it was just the bee's in the attic I wouln't be so worried, but the ones in the subflooring and the kitchen cabnetry could easily be upset by the vibrations of running players or erratic AEG fire.

Because saftey is Paramount to Airsoft, after all it is all fun and games until someone gets hurt.  I was hoping someone had an Idea of how to get rid of them to prevent the possible swarm attack that could happen when we have a bunch of people running around shooting inside the building.

 Just My opinion

since the other thread was  locked (and rightly so, can you move those posts here Pika??).

As to the toads eating the bee's Maybe they have been, I know I saw several UBER lizards out there monday. Ever seen an 8" (body not counnting the tail)long blue bellied fence lizard? I saw 8 differnt ones in and around the hives, don't know if they are eating the bee's or the honey but they sure are big and fat!

At the Hotel we alsways used Diesel Fule in a 5 gal pump spray can, the kind used for weed control. Works like a charm...
However you have to use it the day before you play the game or deal with the bees that were'nt there when you sprayed.

thanks for the pic Nuke. Ok so that there isn't any confusion useing nukes picture. the third house from the left (next to the water tank) and the last house on the right are the ones I found bee's in. Haven't been able to go out there lately but who knows maybe I'll be able to head out this weekend and scope it out again.

Bee's at the Ranch
« Reply #9 on: September 16, 2002, 06:47:15 PM »
Ok I went bck out to the ranch this afternoon and the bee's are still there (sorry nuke raid foggers don't work when the room isn't sealed).  Because teh bee's seemed to be peacable today (or I was feeling stupidly safer?)  I was able to get real close to two of the 3 hives.

Someone had a good air pic of the ranch but it apears that it has been deleated from the forums. (if who ever had that can post it with the buildings numbered I'll lett everyone know where the bee's are)

Any way the bee's have found the hardest places to remove them to build their hives. In one house they appear to be in the sub flooring, in an other they are in the attic and in a wall that could be hollow or they may be under the kitchen sink cabnets (sp?? I'm haveing a brain fart, maybe a lingering effect of the chemical enviroment at the ranch nuke?? ;-)~  So unless someone with more bee know how than me might now of a way to entice them out but I sure don't. short of getting some expanding foam sealant and sealing up their enterances I have no Idea how to kill them off do to the difficulties in reaching the hives.

 Ideas?????????????????

Also the large barn (2 story) is now roofless, looks like the storms last weekend didn't like it where it was so they removed it and left it strung almost all the way to the road!!!!
