« on: May 18, 2012, 09:06:21 PM »
Hey, i have been wanting to get my first GBBR, and WE makes a Scar l, and i love shooting my cousins FN Herstal Scar l, so before i am going to order it i would like your input on it. As in do you reccomend it? Is it good on gas? And how many mags do you reccomend? Or should i get an AEG Scar instead of a gas and if so wich brand? Thanks!!

I owned a closed bolt WE Scar L. It was awesome, more kick than other gbbr, the mags held enough gas for 3 mag fulls of bbs (so 90bbs total). It fired at 430 with .2g at least and was consistent, get .3g bbs for it. Or get the $60 or so fps adjustment. DONT GET THE CLOSED BOLT, it sucks at automatic, would crush the bbs and shoot them out like a shotgun, pretty cool but useless in medium range.

Any questions just ask (PM me), i researched this a lot prior and originally wanted the open bolt, but circumstances did not allow.

Yes but they are 600 or so a piece so if you are willing to dish out that much money, then have at.

For AEG verions I'd recommend looking at the VFC, TM, or CA.

The TM uses a proprietary "real shock" mag, basically TM's electric blowback design. If your going to get an AEG Scar, get the VFC, the externals on them are beautiful and VFC's perform great stock.

Wiring is said to be horrible in that, pretty cheap fix, but i would check that out if you purchase a vfc scar.
