Just a quick shout out from training up here.
« on: July 05, 2006, 09:46:23 PM »
Hey guys. Just letting ya'll who care know that I'm still alive and kicking and having a blast up here in CO. I'm close to the academy and we're in the middle of a mock deployment. I'm assigned to security forces, and I'm a fireteam leader. That's good because, as some of you know I hope to someday be a Combat Controller, after I graduate.

Here's some pics:

Me in our semi fortified hasty:

To busy to pose...

During off duty:

Needless to say...this means I won't be attending many airsoft events in the near future. Hope to see ya'll when I get back!

Get your chinstrap on right, soldier. You're going to get shot in the helmet, and it will break your neck.

MILES is fun shit, isn't it! Have fun!

Make sure you gloat tons after you kill entire fireteams.

MMM, MILES!!! Hey man, can you smuggle a couple of those units out here. *nudge, nudge* Anyway, looks like you are having a good time. I didn't know you went to the Air Force Academy, do you know Patrick Sauncy?

I'm not attending the Academy. I just got selected to go there for some summer combat/deployment training. Since I'm working towards Combat Controller, it's something of a neccesity beforehand.

Here's another cool pic I got. Forgot about this one.

EDIT: Oh Ian, I also forgot to mention that this picture was taken just before I killed both of them

I noticed the laser transmitter on the end of your A2 isn't the normal MILES Laser transmitter. Is that that SAAB version of the laser? Details, fuckin' details!!!

I'm back in town (Finally!)! Now I gotta get everything together to start airsofting again. Here's a few more pics for your enjoyment.

Oh and Ian, I don't know which MILES transmiter it was. All I know is that my weapon was not sighted to it... I missed more than I hit with it.

Home sweet tent...

Don't ask...

My element on the last day. We're missing four cause they were sent home for sneaking away to take a real shower. heh heh.

Oh BTW, if anyone has the skinny on what's going down for Irene can they send a PM my way? Thanks.

Good to know you enjoyed Global Engagement. Minus my multiple bouts with CS, I thought it was a decent time, too. What is a privilege for you ROTC guys is mandatory for us, which is kinda funny to me (and causes alot of moaning from many cadets). And the MILES . . . yeah, they definitely didn't bother to sight the laser in. For Firehead: the transmitters were brand new this year and they are definitely lighter and smaller than the previous models I've used/seen.

Oh yeah, where did you guys set up "tent city"?Over by CATM? Did you get to meet Sgt. Spring?
