Title: Operation Blood Money Aug 6 & 20 SWPB (9 am - 2pm)
Post by: Marauders Airsoft on July 19, 2006, 03:10:24 PM
Operation Blood Money is a scenario game at Southwest Paintball where the missions are based upon the current drug cartel war that is taking place in Mexico in cities such as Acapulco and Nuevo Laredo.

The famed international resort city of Acapulco, on the Pacific coast of southern Mexico has become a battleground in the past few months as rival drug cartels and gangs wage a turf war over the control of the illegal drug trade and smuggling routes into the United States for South American Cocaine.

The two most powerful cartels in the area are the Sinaloa and Gulf Cartels.

The leader of the Sinaloa cartel is an assassin named Joaquin “El Chapoâ€￾ Guzman.  He runs a group of hit men known as “Los Pelonesâ€￾

The leader of the Gulf Cartel Osiel Cardenas, who is currently jailed, has a group of military trained assassins know as “Los Zetasâ€￾.  The Zetas original members had been Special Forces Airborne Soldiers.  The existing members had received training from the original mercenaries.

In January of 2006, a furious gun battle occurred in the outskirts of Acapulco known as La Garita, between 60 police officers and members of the Sinaloa cartel.  Since then police, military, and members of the Special Anti Drug Operations unit have been deployed to Acapulco to stem the violence.

Our story begins here…

During the first game of Operation Blood Money, participants will be divided into three different organizations.  Here are the uniform requirements for each team:

Woodland/Green – Fuerzas Armadas de Mexico -Mexican Military
Civilian Clothing – Sinaloa Cartels
Desert/Tan – Federal Special Anti Drug Operations

Remember all players need SEALED EYE PROTECTION - no exceptions will be made.

We are still in need of volunteers to play non-combatant roles.  These role players will play as civilians, VIPs, politicians, business owners and informants throughout the games.  Admission to volunteer role players is free!

Our Airsoft SWAP meet returns August 6.  Remember to bring any old gear or guns you may want to sell. The Marauders will sell your gear for you while you play.

About Southwest Paintball
This is a great location for airsoft as it has seven fields featuring an old town, a castle, ship, and a giant field with towers and trenches. Minors are welcome to play at Southwest with a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.  Take the opportunity to visit SoftAir Depot and get more information about the game.  There is a field fee of only $20 per player.  Visit www.southwestpaintball.com (http://www.southwestpaintball.com) for directions and pictures of the field.

There is a carpool ($5) available for the game on August 6.  The carpool will leave from SoftAir Depot at 7:00 am and return at 4:30 PM.  You must make a reservation by email or by calling and leaving a message at (602) 283-4184.

Title:
Post by: Marauders Airsoft on August 01, 2006, 08:41:13 AM
Please make sure to send a pm with your uniform and weapon.  Don't forget to make a reservation for the carpool by email or telephone.

As for team selection -
Any Green Uniform - Mexican Military
Civilian Clothes/Urban/MultiCam/Not Green or Tan = Drug Cartels
Tan Desert - Anti Corruption Forces

For those who haven't played at one of our scenario games before, don't worry to much about the story line.  Team leaders will send you on plenty of raids and ambushes.  Just remember to bring enough water. Most missions are at least an hour long without a break.

Well its not like you pay 20 bucks and just go in the desert and shoot at eachother, like a backyard skirmish. Its a series of interesting scenerios, and I bet alot of time is put into it. Its preety organized.

Can someone answer this, can you have a sniper rifle thats 500fps???  I'ved read the airsoft arizona rules before like a yr ago, and they said the max is 500fps for sniper rifles.  Thats if you are like 30 meters away, hence the sniper action...
Someone please because I want a gas sniper rifle, but I don't want it if I can't use it in games....
65 feet away
so can I use my gun....?
WHOOT WHOOT SNIPeING

500 fps with what weight BB?  The bb weight makes a lot of difference.

Events at SWPB follow all Lionclaws Series rules.
Title:
Post by: one shot Reed on August 01, 2006, 06:18:00 PM
of course .2 at 500fps
Title:
Post by: one shot Reed on August 01, 2006, 06:18:52 PM
your allowed to have 500fps for snipers right??????
Title:
Post by: Doc Hollywood on August 02, 2006, 12:30:57 AM
Sniper Chrono:

SNIPER CHRONO
3-1.4 All sniper weapons will be chronographed using .34 gram BBs (8mm) or .36 gram BBs.

3-1.5 Using .34g (8mm) BBs:

OK < 448 fps
Caution 448 - 460 fps
NO GO > 460 fps

3-1.6 Using .36 gram (6mm) BBs.
OK < 436 fps
Caution 436 - 447fps
NO GO > 447 fps

MINIMUM ENGAGEMENT DISTANCE is 100 FEET

Most of the fields at SWPB do not lend themselves to the safe use of sniper weapons.  Accordingly, generally to use a sniper weapon one must have attended the Marauders Sniper Training in order to use a sniper weapon at Marauders events.

For those who have not submitted their team of choice, please consider playing on the cartel side.  Fuerzas Armadas De Mexico (Mexican Military) and SADO Special Anti Drug Operations have pretty much filled up.

If you already emailed me, please don't change uniforms.

Any additional questions should be sent via pm.

Specialized game rules will be sent via email or pm by the end of the week.
Title:
Post by: Ghostsequel on August 02, 2006, 05:29:05 PM
Hey Doc, why not use the AA rules for sniper weapons?  Chronoed with .20s, must be under 500 fps.  Seems a little more simple, and maybe a little more safe.

And yeah, most of the fields at SWPB really aren't sniper-friendly.  The town for example, by the time you see your enemy, chances are you're too close to use your weapon anyway.
Title:
Post by: Doc Hollywood on August 02, 2006, 08:09:58 PM
We use Lionclaws series rules for a number of reasons.

The LC rules have a lot of technical research and expert contribution built into them.  Marauders travel to most of the Lionclaws series ops and its nice to have consistency.

Well I guess I will be the first to post reactions of the game.  First I would like to say that the storyline and everything is a great idea.  The idea that everyone gets money and they have to keep it and take it to the bank etc. is a good idea.  However I felt that the "Airsoft" scenario game became more of a money game than an airsoft game.  I guess I just thought that there would be more drug problems since this is a drug war.  Obviously there would be money involved since the game is called "Blood Money" but I didn't think it would be used how it was.  Of course those questions might be answered at the next game.  Now don't get me wrong the game had its fun parts but it seemed for whatever reason that my team (desert camo) were doing more standing around then fighting.  Maybe it was because this has never been done before and nobody was really used to it.  Besides if this was a "role game" instead of a scenario game then maybe I was just not used to playing role games.  Those are just my little thoughts of the game.  I hope that nobody takes this personal I just thought I'd express what I thought.  I am still curious on how it turns out on the 20th, maybe all my concerns will be answered at that game.

Hey I was wondering if there is a map of the battlefield I can print off.  Being new to the field left me virtually in the dark ...no to mention I forgot to bring a walkie-talkie.  So anyway a map of the area would be most appreciated...I don't care if its updated with newly built objects and such.
Title:
Post by: Fish on August 06, 2006, 09:08:19 PM
I think this scenario involved too much standing/guarding, and the cartels had the most action. And I didn't like you had to "buy" full auto, but that would be a personal problem  . I think this would of been alot funner, but today was a very hot day. I am looking forward to the next game, and I hope the scenarios improve.
Title:
Post by: PolandsLeftTesticle on August 07, 2006, 12:42:24 AM
I was a bad ass cartel.

After El Chappo paid nearly everyone off, we were able to carry kilos to the airport, yielding cash almost into the .5million mark. The addition of cash really brought out the gameplay. As for those who weren't on the cartel, they were unfortunately all corrupt, and gladly accepted bribes and DID NOTHING as Fish mentioned, and as planned.
Buying full auto was fine with me. So was being paid  to play. If you weren't paid, you'd go look for a job (as far as the role-playing goes, a man needs his cash to live, doesn't he? You don't get paid, you won't want to work, so you don't do sh*t until someone employs you). There were too many factors to this game and I'm too lazy to go over them, but it was really a blast.

And FISH:
IMO, what you could have done was accept the bribes, and wait. Your fellow FAM, the ones loyal to the cartel, would begin walking to the point where they were to rendezvous with El Chapo and escort his cartel to the airports for shipment to america. You convince a few people to join you, ambush your fellow FAM while they have their backs turned, take their money, move into position and await the cartel, and kill and take their kilos of cocaine, turning each kilo in for five grand each.

Unfortunetly everyone I killed had no more than a 100 dollar bill on them, so I diidn't even bother to run across the field to get it. And this one kid ran away with my money. Well it was his money, but I started shooting at him.
Title:
Post by: PolandsLeftTesticle on August 07, 2006, 01:21:02 PM
The whole point of these missions was CORRUPTION. The point was to MAKE MONEY. You couldn't even fight without it. And those who lost thousands and thousands could have simply dropped their weapons before being fired upon and bank it. You could be robbed, yeah, but only if you were afraid of being shot.

Mike "El Chapo" Simpson, towards the end of the first mission, got so pissed at FAM for screwing him over as he tried to bribe them, that he bought the entire Cartel full-auto weapons and refused to even try to deal with FAM again.
Title:
Post by: Fish on August 07, 2006, 01:23:16 PM
I also didn't like that you had to walk so far to your FOB and then go back to get money from your leader... it was just too far, and took too much time. The heat was a big factor.

At the beginning og the 2nd mission he offered my FAM squad 100 grand to help them make a drug run. I think it was all good until the very end where all the SADO guys and the Cartel were killing off everyone they saw. I think my squad should have gone rogue and joined the cartel but it probably would have been bad for us in the end.

Players who purchased full auto in the first game can begin Operation Blood Money with full auto.  However, weapons must still be chronographed prior to game play.

remeber that time that guy had a box mag on his m4 and was blind fireing, i think his name was bow-tie assasin.

Post by: Fish on August 13, 2006, 05:46:44 PM
He didn't blind fire... he just shot alot of BBs at an enemy becuase conserving BBs was just pointless.

If i remeber correctly he fired his gun over a wall and he wasen't looking were it was shooting. Babybackribs also was there and so was Chuck. Im not sure who else but i remember it quite well. Keep in mind this was during Ramadi Tales.

Doesn't matter. Blind fire is stupid. How many times have you actually been hit by blind fire?

Title:
Post by: Fish on August 14, 2006, 02:46:13 PM
9am - 2pm and then you can stay for the filming of the movie.

Post by: Viper on August 14, 2006, 03:15:31 PM
My dad might actually get his primary weapon, as well as mine, working before the 20th. His main gun is a G3 SG1 with a full metal body and a Tightbore PSG1 barrel with an 8 in silencer and the PSG1 scope on it. It has a nice distance and rof, but dies at the end of every game played so we'll see. My gun is just an M4 with a full stock that dies a lot also. :)

Like tan needs any more people :) Put me down +3 more, basically the exact same squad that was there last time for Green.

hey to play on Desert/Tan or Los Zetas – You must be recruited by the Zetas team leader to play on tan.

FILMING FOR RAMADI TALES HAS BEEN POSTPONED.  WE WILL FILM AT A LATER DATE IN THE FALL.  THE FILM CREW HAD A CONFILCT IN THEIR SCHEDULES.

Operation Blood Money is still scheduled for 9 am - 2 pm Sunday August 20th.

Please remember to email me with your team of preference.  Those who wish to be employed by Los Zetas (Desert/Tan) need to send a pm to Doc Hollywood.

The carpool is $5 whether you return with us or not.  We will be leaving SoftAir Depot at 7:15 am. [/b]

Uhm I emailed Doc.  Besides 3 of that five went to the game on the 6th and were tan.  So its not my fault that theres to many tan players which there really isn't anyway I dont think.  Atleast the 6th was like that.;)

IF you were Tan last time then you are invited to be TAN this time subject to random adjustments at the AO.  Otherwise, if you come in tan you will be placed elsewhere after IFF procedures are in place.

Alright I can go...  I will be dropped off at the field by my dad and leave early to go to work.

Anyway I finaly found a map of the field.

Go to google earth and use these coordinates:

33 degrees,39 minutes,56.18 seconds N    112 degrees, 29 minutes, 36.67 seconds W

The altitue is roughly 2853 feet.  should park you above the oil fields.

TODAY WAS AMAZING YOU GUYS... I'M GLAD I CAME.

i had an awesome time with everyone and i hope you all can say the same about me.

i saw much better teamwork in game 2 than i did in game one. and i thought game 2 was more fun so i think it had something to do with it, either that or the full-auto. i think everyone did a great job at pulling together and concentrating on their objectives. it really "set the mood" for me. so thanks for that.

I HOPE YOU GUYS HAD A GOOD TIME. AND THAT I SEE YOU ALL AT FUTURE GAMES =^)

I only robbed the bank twice, I don't now why they had to put a bounty on me   , after that my teamates were shooting me in the back, even after the bounty was over. One guy was actually nice enough to shoot me in the back of my helmet instead lighting my legs up with full auto  :? .

Well then, maybe you actualy learned to not rob the bank, and to not be stupid... sorry about that.... i know its fun to rob the bank but they warned you at what would happen... so thats why you be careful and kill them first. :D
