Title: RED DAWN: Battlefront Texas Jan 28 at Marauders Airsoft
Post by: Marauders Airsoft on December 16, 2006, 09:16:27 AM
Marauders Airsoft is hosting RED DAWN: Battlefront Texas on January 28th from 9 am - 5 pm.

The game is based on the movie Red Dawn.  Battlefront Texas follows up on the Soviet/Cuban invasion of the United States.  The civilian militia, Wolverines, have spread their battle throughout the southwest.  The city of Houston, TX is one of the final strongholds of the Soviet forces.  Join the adventure at RED DAWN: Battlefront Texas!

Registration opens December 20th at Arizona Paintball Depot (APD).
Admission ($40) includes:

Event Patch
Lunch
Raffle Ticket

APD will also raffle off several Tokyo Marui AEG's at the event.

Players may join the battle on one of four forces.

Russian Military (30 Spaces) Woodland Uniform
Russian Special Forces (12 Spaces) Woodland Uniform

Wolverine Militia (30 Spaces) Civilian Clothing
US Special Forces (12 Spaces) DCU's/ACU's

Players may register at APD (27th Street and Bell Road) after Dec. 20

Marauders Airsoft events always have something "extra" to offer players.  Red Dawn: Battlefront Texas will also include special items.  However, due to the holidays and work schedule, Marauders team leadership has not been able to coordinate all of the sponsors, vehicles, and vendors at the event.

Please note that as this information becomes available, it will be posted.  Our team doesn't want to advertise the event falsely.  This game will probably be our biggest event yet.

Marauders Airsoft thanks all of the players who continue to support our events.  It is your participation that allows us to grow the games.

On another note, our new schedule is available at SoftAir Depot (69th St and Shea), Jungle Toy (35th and Northern), and APD (27th St and Bell).

Bring the flyer to the open game on Dec. 30 for a $10 discount.

Registration is going well for the game.  Currently we have about 30 players signed up for the event.

We also have about 15 players from the APD who will be playing as Russians.  With just under three weeks to the event we should break our attendance record and get about 75-100 players at this game!
Title:
Post by: Marauders Airsoft on January 12, 2007, 08:12:49 AM
Just a quick update for the game.  Special Forces troops will be equipped with over $400 worth of smoke grenades for the game.

There are still about 6 spaces left for Russian Special Forces for the game.  Special forces players will receive training on how to safely deploy smoke at the game on Sunday on specific fields.

Each SF will receive at least one smoke grenade for the game to be used during certain missions.

More details to come next week.

SF spots can be paid for at the training class itself.  There are 4 Russian SF spaces left for the game according to those who have expressed interest.  Players may also register by sending payment to mike@phoenixsecuritygroup.us

All of the US SF positions have been filled.  Players on both SF teams will get a sneek peak at the missions and therefore will be able to provide leadership and mission planning for the regular troops the day of the game.

These personnel will also have special weapons needed to accomplish many of the missions.

More information will be posted on Monday, Jan 22.

I probably should've asked earlier,  Does anyone know what time the training day will start at?  I checked the marauder's website and PMed the guy on the board but I'm still getting nothing.

Thanks for the help and hope to see you all at the game. :D

Training for Red Dawn will be from 9 am - 4 pm on Saturday.  Players may pay for training on Saturday.

Bring all of your equipment that you are planning to use during the game on Sunday.  Players will need at least 2000 bb's for the class.  Radios are highly encouraged but are not required.

Game info will be posted to the Marauders Newsletter later today.

GAME UPDATE

There are 65 players registered for the game on Sunday.

Any players who have signed up for either US or Russian Special Forces need to attend training on Saturday Jan 27 from 9 am - 4 pm.  Admission to the training is $30.  Only players who attend the training will be authorized to use special weapons and smoke grenades.

Current Team Numbers -
US Special Forces (19)
Wolverines (10)
Russian Special Forces (16)
Russian Army (20)

I expect about 10 - 15 additional players to register prior to the game.  There may also be 5-10 players who register the day of the event.

With these projections, there will be close to 90 players at most.  There are still a few days to talk up the game.  It would be awsome to break the 100 player mark for our first big game of the year.

As for prizes, there will be two raffles at the event.  The first will feature smaller prizes such as bb's, JT Delta Face Masks, and game certificates.  It will also include one Tokyo Maraui AEG.  About $800 will be given away at the first raffle.

The second raffle will be for three TM AEG's.  All players will receive one ticket for the second raffle.  However, players may purchase additional tickets for $1 each or 6 tickets for $5.

There is still time to stop by Arizona Paintball Depot at 27th Street and Bell to register.

GAME UPDATE

Official Registration Stands at 77 Players as of 7:45 pm January 26.
This is a new attendance record for Marauders Airsoft.  I expect to break 100 players for Sunday's game!

There is only one more day to register for Red Dawn:  Battlefront Texas

Raffle prizes were picked up from APD and the selection of Tokyo Marui AEG's is pretty nice.  Arizona Paintball Depot has donated four different AEG's for Sunday's big event.  These include:

1 - Steyr Aug
1 - G3 SG1
1 - M-16A1
1 - MP5SD6

There may also be a number of lower end AEG's given away at the Op.

See US and Soviet Special Forces troops tomorrow at the training!

Thanks to everyone who came out to all of the activities this weekend.  We had over twenty players attend the US/Russian Special Forces Training on Saturday.

Sunday's game attendance was 102 players!  Over $2000 in prizes were given away at the event.

If you have suggestions on game improvement, please send me a pm.  There were about 30 completely new players at the game and about just about half as many players did not read the game rules or listen to their team leaders mission breifings.  I know that I spent most of my time trying to get players headed in the right direction for the US team.

Our next big event will be the Airsoft Tactical Challenge on Sunday, February 25.  The next scenario game will be held at the end of March.

Please send feedback on the game through www.marauders.us (http://www.marauders.us) as well as this forum.

It was a great game, needless to say.

Even thought the Russian team was totally decimated in ALL the senarios, it was still fun trying to coordinate everyone.  Our 4 man SF team had a hard time doing anything other than support and lead the regular russian troops.

This is the reason I've switched entirely from paintball to airsoft.  The people are just that much more friendly.  Even though the Russian team was losing badly, I'm proud to say that (for the most part) people still conducted themselves with honor and integrity.

Lastly, big ups to the Marauders for coordinating this event so well.  Sure, we had alot of rogue players, but events like this are vital to the growth of our hobby.  Eventually, those players will figure out the whole "tactics" part of the game.

Thanks again to Mike and all the Marauders.  I look forward to playing with (or against) you guys again.

Post by: goodtunes1978 on January 30, 2007, 08:11:40 AM
so much for the honor system   it got too the point where i was just drilling and drilling till they finally gave up

counting at least 10 hits from a 30 round burst wasnt cool when they didnt call and that was about 20 of the us team at any given time

i was almost too the point where i was going too break out my paintball gear cause in all due honesty atleast i would've known for sure i tagged someone

its especially bad when you have flanked 6 players and they dont know you are there and you come out a spraying and they are 20 feet away in a small group i know for a fact i hit every one of the lil bastards   but do they have honor hell no then i just freagin get swarmed  NOT COOL

i used the honor system up too the last game when i pretty much said screw it cause most everyone else wasnt

and as far as the lil turds that were shooting people from the sidline in the last game  yes you know who you were you almost got hurt bad with a buttstock hit to the mellon   this is supposed too be a fun game why you gotta shoot when you are already out from the sideline

but most all of the crap that went on really put a sour taste in my mouth for large scenarios

this is the first big scenario i played like this    and now i think there is a reason why i always would rather play with my group out in the desert  its cause i know i can trust them too call themselves as well as them trusting me too call

next time if this happens expect the paintball gear too come out cause the people that i know i shot will know that they were hit

i know this isnt paint ball but if they're isnt going too be any honor their is going too be 68 cal paint flying at 23 a second

theirs my rant

over all i had a good time i especially liked the last scenario where we totally just all went at it in the town ahahahh  good stuff for it all  great twist too the scenario and i would love too play another again

In the last mission you had to core kill a Blue. Only head and body counted. No arms/legs/gun because of the numbers of blue to everyone else. I got clocked by a bouncer right off the top of my head..looked like a HS but wasn't.

Hey guys, about red dawn. I left an Army Digital Camo vest with 8 Mp5 magazines in the staging area on the far right on a bench. Marauder's Mike said someone claimed it. Now I would appreciate it if who'me ever claimed over $100 dollars worth of equipment, and would contact me so they can return it to me. Cuz I really don't feeling going to spend money on what I already spent it on. It sucks.

Other than that Red Dawn Pwnt!

That had to be one of the dumbest things I have ever seen in airsoft.  You guys just kept getting shot once you unloaded.

CiscoKid, this is Michael speaking, and I'm pretty sure you are Scott.  Kyle took your vest once he realized you forgot it, for safe keeping, lemme know what you want done, and I'll relay that message to him.

Anyone know anything about the DVD they made? I just want to know if I was on it, those freakin cameras where following me for a good period of time. Mainly when I was stalking jconstas and his son.

And missed horribly due to my covered red dot.
