Airsoft in AZ isn't full of turds like cali and poland.

wtf are you talking about

I think he means the airsoft players here in AZ dont go around wearing ranks and branch tapes they didnt earn; Am I correct Sgt. Keenan?

I got that much from it, just seemed like he is tiring to be threatening or is trying to make some accusation.

Airsoft has a reputation among service members as being a haven for posers. There are many pictures on the net from mil-sim airsofters who have decided that they needed to not only have the most realistic weapons and gear but to also wear uniforms with rank, insignia and badges that they do not have or did not earn, these posers exist around the world (asia, poland, usa...).

I am not current or former military, I have the utmost respect for anyone who serves, and the deepest contempt for those that would fake it to gain praise of peers. But I have contempt for anyone who lies to elevate themselves.

That was all Patrick was getting at.

Ah, thank you for the clarification, I was just making sure that I wasn't being called, or insinuated that I am a posser. Anything I choose to wear or not wear I have earned.

Thats good that you guys keep that kind of stuff in check....I hated seeing all the JROTC kids running around with MSG rank and CIBs and CABs.

hahaha welcome to the club on that part, since I am still in high school and a JROTC cadet myself, I hate being around some of the cadets who do wear ranks or wear the combat infantry badge, my father got pissed off one time when he went to visit the school, and saw the cadet had a CIB with a star on top. Though then again, we just kick the cadets out of the program who do wear the uniform with any ranks or awards.

It’s bad luck to wear stuff you didn't earn. I knew a guy who would carry around jump wings and wear them on his backpack, when he finally got the school he broke his leg in 4 places. Same goes for the CAB; since I was in a MP unit we didn't get CIBs. One of my friends went a hole year without seeing any combat, granted he was a FOBIT, so he wore one when he went home on R&R, when he came back he went out on his monthly patrol and his truck got hit by an IED, Fed him up good. Never really heard much from him after he was med-evac from Baghdad to Germany.

Plus it just pisses me off to hear FOBIT tell “war stories” that they heard and just made it their own. And it seems like every time I go to the VA all the guys there are retired SGM from a SF command. What’s up with that? I mean I still have run into another CPL or SGT.
