Milsim Game Idear
« on: November 24, 2009, 09:02:44 PM »
I may have a milsim game idea you may like and think about. We would do a sort of a challenge. Vehicles aren't necessary; we would have Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta teams and we try to accomplish a mission using tools that would get the objective without casualties, we would have some medics. With some maps that may or may not be provided we would have to capture an objective (e.i. medical supplies, resources, etc.). Now me being in the military and run this sort of practice prior to every deployment, The teams involve Alpha being the fore front of any confrontation (using Use of Force) and delta being the ammunition resource; charlie for our 6 and Bravo for any 3 and 9 positions (also provide any cover that is necessary). The only thing is we have to have at least 2 people per group; and at least 4 opposing (we could have respawning for the opposing team). I'm just throwing this out there and take it if you are interested. Some of my friends on base like to consider this opportunity including my brother. please feel free to let me know what you think.....

If anyone has any ideas they would like to add to this post, please feel free to say so. To let you know;I know the delicate nature of the forum here and I'm prepared to take any suggestions that are presented to me. If anyone thinks this post is far from happening let me know cause I think it would be awesome in a sense that people would consider this idea. I know that when I was playing at Jericho Pendleton, they would consider anything that is a new idea and is out of the norm.

Looks like you got a basic idea.  I would be interested in seeing a more developed outline.  As it looks right now to me, with 2 guys per team you could just lump all those into one team with each player assigned their individual team assignments.  Then you could run several teams one at a time, in a friendly competition, to see who can complete the mission in the least amount of time with the least casualties.  One question for now, what would the ammunition resource assignment do in airsoft?

By the way Mad Sarge...you may or may not be familiar with the military, all teams are one (alpha, bravo, charlie and delta) with an opposing. Sorry if that wasn't clear, my bad. 2 people to each team together running the same objective is the ideal plan....I like the competition idea though but the area requires more space to run this for the teams, to make it more competitive. You are on the right path; bring me more of this....

Mabye I'm not picking up what your laying down but this is what I was understanding.  Team1 = (alpha team x 2 people, bravo x2 , charlie x 2, delta x 2).  Team1 goes out to complete a mission and each sub team has roles to fill, am I correct?

It really doesn't matter, this is all finite details here. You seem very excited and it would help if you started with some basics to help start organize the frame work of your idea.
1. The Game Style, ie. one team vs. one team, multiple teams competing for something at the same time or through single evolutions? Is there a dedicated opfor and do they have engagement rules with stage progressions or is it just force on force?

2.What is the primary mission. Are there any secondary objectives that may come into play later in the game? What tasks/equipment will be required to complete these objectives? Will there be an exfil and/or when do you plan to call index?

3. What size are you planning for the different teams?

4.What location or type of terrain would best fit the mission dynamics?

5. How will the respawns and medic rules work if any?

6. How long do you think your missions might take to accomplish, will the missions last or will you be done in a few hours. What do you do if the teams complete your planned missions earlier than expected?

You have a few of these things figured out already. These are just a few things that would provide us with a good starting point so we know what kind of idea your looking at. Otherwise we are just shooting in the dark, there are so many ways to plan and host a game. If you need ideas, I'd recommend attending some of the games that are geared more towards the milsim aspect and see how others use elements to  put a game together.

hmm, your idea seems more like military training then a scenario, which is equally beast. And i think the whole idea on ammunition would be basically a squad with ammo cans filled with BBs and (for the midcap/lowcap users) speedloaders with some Squad Support weaponry to protect the squads while they load.

it's a good platform but very specific to a situation imo.. on top of that do you have the guys able to do this? because i'm thinking that coordinating this on the fly with walk ons @ the game would be interesting and difficult..

i'd say rewind a bit.. find some guys that would be willing to practice your idea @ some milsim style games. the execute your idea at a game..
