Polie,

check out forums like http://www.cascity.com or other cowboy actions shooting sites, such as http://www.sassnet.com.  There are ways to get real ivory for your 1873, you just have to look around and those sites are a good place to start.  Sorry for jumping on that, but I'm a member of SASS and CAScity and I have two USFA Colts and two 1886 (man. date) SAA's back home so I thought I'd offer some help.  They would also be a great place to start to look for the Winchester as well, found my 1875 (man. date) Henry from cascity, so here's hoping you could have some luck there too.

Theres an original winchester 73 carbine hanging up above the entrance of the gift shop next to pinnacle peak steak house. Looks like its been there for at least a decade or so. Poor thing. I get a painful feeling in my chest every time I go by there and see it. It's  splitting and sun bleached stock and forearm crowned by a rusty forearm cap. Receiver, barrel, and lever rusted by years of rain. It looks like it may still be functional if the action can be freed up but who knows what the ears of weather have done to it. It looks about like a 25-35 or so because from what I could see it the rusted bore was a bit smaller than a .30.

It makes me sad even thinking bout it.

How about like, World War 2, where the fate of the free world hung in the balance?

M79 Grenadier could help with that list

Gah! people are still talking about me!

Lol, cant help this dude out though most every airsoft gun I had has been replaced by the real thing.  So does that mean I'll get to tell them "these guns ect... ect.. helped win the war", and not "the real versions fo these gunsect....ect.... helped win the war".
Realistically thinking though even the most well made airsoft guns arent ment to last for a lifetime or more. Unless they stay in the box or never get used or somthing like that. Plus Id much rather be handed down somthing that will be enjoyed and last through my lifetime, and on to the next generation.  8)

Thats awsome, about how much would you say it weighs?

Thanks!

With the buttstock, carrying handle, and bipod I would say it weighs a little over 30lbs lol. And this would have been the airbourne configration. Though these had lightened barrels the real a6s weighed just about as much. Not somthing you would think to jump out of a c47 with.

Hey man you never call to chat or anything G. We need to go out shooting with our real toys. Anyway Romainian 8mm Mauser is realy cheap stuff right now. All you have to do is clean after useing it, and your good to go. I have fell out of the airsoft scene because I been realy busy. Then Obama became ellected so real stuff is more important, and then I hurt my knee.

Lol that sucks about youre knee. How bad was it messed up?

We totaly need to do some shooting. Ive been totaly swapmed these lase few weeks with this gun, and getting the troop back up and runnning. Took her up through charouleau gap last weekend and didind break anything so Im kind of jazzed about that. It was pretty fun.  8)

I was going to go to the big gun show up in the valley back in december but I couldnt make it. Never been to it though Ive been told its more than worh the drive. We really need to do a get together though. Do you get weekends off?  8)

Is now a fully complete semi-auto belt fed 1919a6 browing machine gun.  8)

If some of you remeber me when I still played airsoft you might remember me working on making an airsoft version of a browning 1919a4 mg to go with all my other WW2 stuff. That seems like yesterday but it was almost four yeas ago. I originaly bouth the parts kit intentionally for making the airsoft gun, but when I did all the modifications and built the internals I made sure not to alter any of the original browning part in case I ever wanted to build it into a real gun. Well, the years went by and though I thougt Id never tire of airsoft I eventualy found other hobbies (some even more exp than airsoft lol) and the parts went on the shelf with all of my other projects.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to dig the ol parts kit it out and see if I still had all the original parts and thankfuly I did. Reason being that I knew with us now being an obamanation I should probably start working on making this shootable while I still could, so I orderd a semi-auto trigger and sear kit with new rivets, and started making the sideplate. The sideplate I made out of T-1 A514 abrasion resistant plate, and using the original blueprints I made it on the CNC mill at work.

This sideplate is different from a full auto plate though because of that large bar shaped island left on the inside. This bar makes it so you have to relif cut the new semi-auto modified bolt and barrel extension so that they fit into the gun. This also make it impossible with this sideplate riveted to the gun to shove any unmodified fully automatic internals into the gun. After I had the sideplate done I installed the semi sear and trigger, and milled the bolt, barrel extension and lock frame so that they would now work with the semi auto plate.

After that that I took the gun to work and riveted the sideplate on and  was ready to tke her out for a test run. 8)

The kit originally came as an isreali reworked to .308, but I just orderd an 8mm barrel for it to cut down on thecost of ammo. It runs like a top on .308 but at 60 cents a round I cont afford to be blazing away (its really easy to do with a belt fed gun be it semi or not lol). Also I was fortunate enough to buy a bnunch of surplus 8mm when it was cheap so Ive got quite a bit of it. The only thing left to do is re-parkerize the gun because of the new sideplate, and also because the vintage WW2 parkerizing is starting to wear off after 60 years.

More to come!

@ m-79_Grenadier

You have some REALLY nice firearms there!

Tell me about you Super Blackhawck, what serial number range is it in and is it the early "pre-bar" model?  I have a very low serial number one that has been completely re-worked.  I inherited it from my father, he used toi use it for slow fire competitive shooting.  They are really nice revolvers.  Oh and mine is a .45 Colt. I prefer it over the .43 Mag. :) (and yes I did type .43 on purpose, I like to tease about how the .44 Mag is actually a .43 diameter bullet>) lol

I have been wanting to get 2-3 SKS's for a while, I guess I should have done it WAAAY before the Presidential election seeing how they are now double the price.  If you ever want to do some trading, let me know :)

Thanks!

Lol sorry for the late folloup though I havent been on in a while.

I dont know if the pistol is early or late model, the serial is 82-077XX and it does have a transfer bar. Its really a blast to shoot, but they always get loose at the frame screws. The pachmyers help with the recoil a bit too.

That SKS I bought for $100 bucks.  8)  That was like a year ad a half ago too. I bought it from some guy who couldnt figure out why it was jamming. When I got it and stripped it down the action was totally dry, and the bolt and bore looked like it had never been cleaned. After I cleaned it up and got some lube in there I havent had a jam one. Guess weapons maintenence is a foreign concept to some people lol.

Great shootin BTW!  8)

M79,
My family has 3 or 4 of them, they are the funnest things to shoot, but got to keep them to pass onto the kids.

Its good that youre going to keep them in the family Ganef. Though collector prices continue to rise there are some things that will always remain priceless.  8) A few of mine have been passed down to me and I wouldnt sell them for the world. Those 62s have always been a favorite of fo mine too, and my dad has a rossi copy with a 2x pistol scope and its really a blast, and he recently got a tarus model 62 carbine in 17hmr. Ive also been looking for an original model winchester 1890 (earlier non take-down version) but the priceshave gone insane. May end up settling for a tarus or rossi though.

Nice collections guys!  8) Its good to see some more ol m1s still seeing use. Guess I'll chime in too.  8) Been collecting more real stuff letely than airsoft lol.

Rifles:

-My custom built (by me lol) .45 cal pennsylvainia flitlock long rifle. (I have a thing for flinters)
-Marlin mod. 336 in 30-30. Barrel was rechambered and shortened 2in.
-.303 Enfield no.4 Mk-I. Built by me lol.
-.303 Enfield no.1 Mk-III. Also built by me.  8)
-H&R MI with bedded action, barrel and trigger group.
-Yugo SKS
-Yugo m24-47 mauser
-Winchester model 74 .22 mfr in late 1946

 M1 serials:

Shotguns

-Norinco 1887 12ga. Slicked over action
-Norinco 1893 pump. Action also slicked over
-Stevens/eastfeild concauction. Barrel was fron different gun and rethreaded to fit the stevens action.
-Ithaca moled 37 in 20ga
-Browning auto-5 with 18in barrel modified from a US military remington model-11 barrel.
- Custom savage model 311 project. Restocking in progress and awaitng being bedded.
-Ithaca flues no. 1 1/2. Mfr in late 1912 full damascus and fully engraved receiver and lock plates.
-Original Winchester model 1887 in 10ga. Mfr in early 1891

Pistols

-Authentic repruduction aand custom ordered model 1759 british light dragoon pistol in .62 cal. Used by mounted british infantry in the revolution. You may recognize it used by col. Tavington (evil dude) in the move The Patriot.
-Cobray arms .45LC Derringer
-Erfurt arsenal 1916 9mm Luger. Was a post WWI rebuild and reblued in 1920.
-FN browning model 1922 produces under nazi occupation. Chambered in .32acp
-Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44mag. Action reworked.
-Original Colt 1902 sporting model. Chambered in .38 acp this one was made in 1903 and the sporting versons are much rarer than the military version. Pre runnner of the colt model 1911 and 1911a1. All ammunition for this has to be hand loaded because 38acp is no longer produced. .38 super is basicaly the same but much too powerful and can be easily loaded down. This pistol is a nail driver with good loads.

Luger dates

Colt patents and serial:

BTW hey Ganef, you wanna sell that winchester 62?  ;)

I know what you mean!  ;) I biuld Isuzus. My builder is a Dana 44 Solid axle swapped 1st gen trooper with 5.38s on 35s.  8)  Funny thing is that most of the complements I get on the trail are from heep guys. Before the SAS I wouldnt even get a second look from them. Bitches lol. I still get the standard "glare" from the mall crawler jeeps though.

Ive had to pull out stuck jeeps on several ocasions as well.  ;)

How much would you be willing to let the winch go for? Im assuming it already has the remote? Do you still use it much?
