Post by: Shock & Awe on November 02, 2012, 09:11:46 PM
Airsoft Operation X: Mission Scenario Nineteen: “Seek and Destroy”

Event Cost: FREE

Scheduled for: November 25th, 2012

Meeting Time: 9AM

Meeting Location: Safeway parking lot located in Chino Valley, AZ

Mission Scenario Rules:

1.) Shock & Awe Field Rules Apply to ALL Players.

Specific Mission Briefings for all players will take place in the field.

Additional Information:

If I do not have an up to date airsoft waiver and airsoft field rules on file for the player then that player will NOT be allowed to play.

I will have airsoft waivers and airsoft field rules available at the event to be signed.

For ALL players under the age of 18, be sure to bring your parents to sign the waiver and field rules, OR stop by the airsoft store in Prescott Valley, AZ to get the paperwork ahead of time.

If you are NOT a “Shock & Awe” team member I would recommend bringing tables and chairs because there is nowhere for you to get your gear ready other then in your vehicle OR in the dirt on the ground.

Tables and etc. provided by the event planner are ONLY for “Shock & Awe” team members to use.

Please come PREPARED for this event.

Playing location is "Leviathan Swamp"

Here are some pictures of the location

Although you will be giving mission specific briefings at the game itself, can you provide a general-ish overview of the game?  Will it be like a bomb carrier-type scenario or what?

Hi and thanks for asking!

My "Airsoft Operation X" scenarios are specifically designed so that players and/or squads are taken out into the field to their starting point and briefed on their mission, this way other players and/or squads do not know what each other is doing.
After doing monthly events for almost three years I found this really adds to the fun. However the info I can let you know is that there will be a very few select players who will be the "Hunted" and many players who will be the "Hunters". Each having their own specific mission, sorry I can't give any more info or it will ruin it for all my regular attendees who love my "Airsoft Operation X" scenarios.

At my events it is very normal to play anywhere from 3 to 5 different war scenarios (depending upon time).

I am probably going to do Airsoft Operation X Mission Scenario 10: "The Killing Fields H.O.G. Version" as the second game.

The Wed before event day I will be in the field setting up re-spawn zones and other necessary stuff for the scenarios.

There's a pretty decent maybe there.

If I can find a ride from the valley I'll be there!

If you give me some money for gas. There's plenty of room in the Moosemobile, if anyone else needs a ride/has gas money if I end up going.

Yea I have a few questions. Why is the meeting time so late? 900 seems late, that means we wont be ready to play be around 1000 atleast. And why on sunday? It might be a good idea to try to move the meeting time way up so we can we get more playing time.

We play on Sundays because it works best for all of us & Raptor has to close his airsoft store to come out and play.  Missing Saturday sales is just too much of a loss, especially this time of year.
We meet later because it's getting colder, in the summer we meet at 7am.

There aren't any, just wear what you like. :-)
The cross roads for Chino's Safeway are: HWY 89 & Road 2 North

We're getting excited to have ya'll come play!!  My sweet hubby bought me a new 9MM and I'm itching to try it out!

I have not been on in a while (been busy custom building airsoft guns!) I am glad to see so many people are commenting. Thanks Lady Wolf for adding in the info about the meeting time as well as why I am unable to host events on Saturdays.
I would like to make sure that everyone is aware of the rules and don't forget about he Waivers and Field Rules that must be signed and on file for players to play. Check out the info at: http://tacticalairsoftguns.com/shawefiru.html (http://tacticalairsoftguns.com/shawefiru.html)
I hope everyone has a great weekend and I send my best wishes to you and yours!

I'd really like to go, just stretching it with the parents and the gas to drive all the way up there.  I may or may not show up depending on circumstances

Hey man, what are the FPS regs for this?

Also.

Is that a live road?

Hi Exarach, and thanks for asking.
FPS limits for AEG's is 420 with 0.20's and for bolt action snipers it's 550 with 0.20's.
You may read over all our field rules at: http://tacticalairsoftguns.com/shawefiru.html (http://tacticalairsoftguns.com/shawefiru.html)
The road underneath the large tunnel is Hwy 89. There is a fence that marks the end of the playing field so we do not go up to the highway. From the large tunnel on down through the playing field there is a dirt road bridge that is not traveled very much at all. Mostly we use the riverbed under that road and the riverbed under the train tracks.
This is one of our favorite places to airsoft and we have airsofted here many times over the last three years.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
I hope you have a great week and I send my best wishes to you and yours. -Raptor

Yup, yup.  I remember this place.  I'll bring an oxygen bottle if you will find somebody to carry it for me.

Maybe we could get you one of those oxygen bottles on wheels, maybe upgrade it to some large rubber wheels to help it glide over the terrain?

Weather Update:
The weather for Sunday is supposed to be a high of 68 and a low of 33 with winds at 7mph. I was out setting up the field on Wed and it was around 70. If I had known it was going to be so warm I would have scheduled everyone to meet at 8am instead of 9am. I was expecting the weather to be cold this time of year as it usually is up here at 5000 ft.
Of course it is Arizona and the weather can change in a second so it is hard to say!
Dress for cold weather but be prepared to shed a layer or two in case it turns out to be nice and warm!
I hope to see you there!!!

Im debating on going, I just dont want to drive 2 1/2 hours if only like 10 people are playing. Do you get a lot of people that show up who dont post on the forums?

Hi sgun480, it is hard to say, you might want to skip this one and wait for the next one because I have already had 8 people tell me they will not be able to go. My events have had as few as 10 people but also have had as many as 60 people. I am hoping for a real good turn out, specially for all the work I have put into this event.

Curiosity Q, is the field going towards or from phoenix from that gas station?
It might really help generate the PHX turnout, if the field is going towards PHX, to let the guys know where it is. That way people wouldn't drive all the way up and have to backtrack a bit.

The field may not even be on that route, its just a thought, since many great play areas run along the highway.

Post by: Shock & Awe on November 23, 2012, 04:42:00 PM
Definitely a good thought. Unfortunately the playing field is approx 25 miles farther away from Phx then our meeting location.
I am thinking about doing next months event at our location known as "Nemesis Desert" which is closer to Phx. This would allow for a meeting point at a location where all you great Phx players would not even have to drive as far as Prescott Valley!!!
I hope you have a great weekend and I send my very best wishes to you and yours. -Raptor Out

I have to say that large or small we usually have a blast!  However, I understand why you would feel this way, it IS a drive for you guys.

Personally I can't wait, I love playing at this location.

It did end up being a small crowd - only 12, but we had a great time!!  I brought out my camera this time, then I never touched it.  LOL  Sorry!

Next game (end of December) will be an hour closer to the Phoenix people. :-)

Yah, but it was a blast!  Small crowd but we had just the right kind of people.  No whining, no equipment issues, no BS.  Just hard charging, go get em, win the day attitude.  Semper Fi Primo, it was good going up against you.
