If you are handy with a mechbox, Classic Army has come out with a Full Tune up Kit for the CA SVD:

Seen an SVD in San Diego with one of these installed, it was out shooting a Right Hook Mantis sniper rifle tuned to 550 fps.

Found this on another site I belong to.  Take it with a grain of salt because until they fix their service, all this is just lip service...

Hello Eeveryone,

What I am here to announce, Evike.com is implementing this pre-order on a very much larger scale at this time. We are doing so, because we work with more airsoft manufactures than any one else in the USA. As is a fact that the majority of Airsoft manufacturers do not make their airsoft guns and other airsoft items as their primary source of income. Which means, that we sometimes get their orders a little later than they tell us we are going to get them, that is why we state ETA as per when an order is suppose to arrive at our store so we can get it out to you our customers. With this new system we now have set up, we are able to pretty much guarantee anyone who purchases one of the pre-order items for delivery of that item as soon as it arrives at our store, which means you will no longer receive an email stating "that item is out of stock at this time". The pre-order items will be sent out as soon as we get them in to our warehouse to the people in order that they purchased the items, in other words, if someone purchased a pre-order item 45 days before it came in and another person purchased it 40 days before it came in, we will send out the person that ordered the item 45 days first.

My point in all of this is that the airsoft industry is changing so often in leaps and bounds as far as technology and other aspects, this way we at Evike.com can stay with it and get you the latest products that are up to date delivered to you as soon as we get them. Actually, this means we care about our customers to the point we are going the extra mile to bring you the best we can along with the most up to date airsoft items that we can. Like I stated, this guarantee's you delivery of the item as soon as it arrives at our warehouse. Now I know people will complain, but if you would, take a look at all of the other airsoft suppliers in America and see who is carrying what we are and when they are offering it to you the airsoft public. Then you will see why we do what we do the way we do it. It works, that's why, it works for you, it works for us, it works for the airsoft manufacturers. This is the only way that it works for everyone. This is the only way we can make it work for you.

Please understand, we are NOT going to order 200 of the newest airsoft products if we can not sell them, we are not going to waste our time, your time or space in our warehouse when we could be using all of that to bring you our customers the products that they want. So that is another way that pre-ordering helps everyone out. It tells us how many products to buy to take care of all of our customers airsoft needs, that way we have you covered and we have you latest available airsoft items in the World. I hope you understand that you Evike.coms customer is truly number 1 to us and we are doing everything possible to keep you happy in knowing we are getting you the best airsoft supplies that our available in the world.
Below is the announcement made at our website to give all an understanding of our Pre-Order policy. Any one that I can help with anything to do with Evike.com, please contact me at the email address I have supplied above. I will get back to you ASAP.
Place a Pre-Order now and save!

By placing an order on these goods you understand that when these goods come into the warehouse, you will receive them before they are offered as in-stock items. Sometimes these items are never available for normal ordering.

Being the biggest Airsoft retailer in America, Evike.com is the gateway of many items into the country as we get first dip on some of the best inventories before they are released. However, due to the nature of Airsoft, custom delay, manufacture delay and other factors, we can only give the best estimate on product ETA. ETA means "Estimated Time of Arrival". Please do not give us a hard time when the goods don't arrive exactly on the estimated time, sometimes they do arrive early! Please be assure that we are doing our best to get your pre-ordered goods to your hands. If it is a time sensitive item that you need at a specific time, please order items in stock.

Anyone here at this website has any problems with any Evike.com order, just email me at kevinatevike@yahoo.com and I will answer your email usually within 24hrs if not sooner. Anyone that would like to verify who I am, feel free to email evike.com at their email addresses listed at Contact US at the top right of all of their web pages at Evike.com and verify that I am here to help any and all of our on line customers.

All Pre-Orders are processed subject to item availability on a first-come, first served basis. All order and payments are processed at the time of order placement.

Evike, America's #1 Airsoft Superstore,
Where Evike & the Customer are Number 1 together!

They are not bad guns.  I have seen the long and short variants of this gun and they perform well for their price.  Comes with everything you need to start playing (i.e. battery, charger, and a 300 hicap magazine).

Honestly though, the battery and charger are not all that great, I would recommend getting a new battery and charger as soon as you can or at least till what comes with the package goes bad.

I am almost completely moved into my new house and with some extra time after work I decided to get the rifles off the floor and finally put up my rifle rack:

Currently shooting about 350 fps.  Once I am done, it should be around 400 fps...

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I'm not looking at this moment, but I would like to get one eventually. I love M14, sr25, and L96. But the L96 springer's kinda suck. So I would stick with getting an M14, or SR25. Love those ones. So, maybe a CA sr25, or something. Idk. But I would like to get a sniper shooting atleast 500fps

MOST, but not all large event organizers do not allow AEG's are sniper rifles.  In MOST cases, sniper rifles are bolt action gas/spring powered.  I would recommend the Tanaka M40A1.  Shoots around 560 to 570 fps with a .20 gram bb.  If that is too rich for your blood, you might want to look at a KJW M700 which shoots about 540 to 550 fps.  Either gas gun would do you great with very minimal upgrading.

If you want to go spring, I would go for a VSR-10 type.  I would recommend TM over all other brands if you have the money, but if you do not, then maybe a JG BAR-10 as a cheaper avenue to start.  Just know that the VSR-10 variants do shoot low fps stock, but there are a lot of aftermarket parts to upgrade them...on a side note to that, the parts are not cheap to get this gun shooting 500 fps plus reliably.

Now, if you plan on never attending a large type of game and your local event organizers allow electric sniper rifles, I would recommend a TM M14 or the like (CA or G&G).  CA SR25 are ok, but with its extended version 2 mechbox, there are some issues of compression which will take away from accuracy.  M14's in its airsoft forms have a good design much better than the version 2 mechbox design.

First, rotate everything back to its original position, then mount on of these to keep it in place...

This item will hold your front RIS aligned to your receiver and will get rid of your RIS wobble and keep everything aligned.

What about durabilty though?
Surefire's bulbs and lenses are super tough compared to some other cheaper lights I've used.

However for 50 bones, I'm gonna try it.

The lens took a direct shot from a 420 fps AEG at 30 feet and did not break or crack, the body is a pretty heft metal and I have dropped a few times and has not problems that I can see regarding its function.

I will add though that I have not seen a replacement bulb this light so, if you burn it out, you might have a problem finding a replacement.
