General Airsoft Discussion / Re: Where is Combat Challenge Crew?

I remember recording that scene and it was with the old Canon camera that did double duty for still photos.

Those were some of my favorite airsoft memories, I wouldn't mind going to another should the opportunity arise.

When you order the bowman/comtac/sordin I would recommend ordering an extra PTT or two. I've got all three replicas and they've worked fine, but I guess for me the PTTs get roughed up enough that they'll die out either before or during a game. I know they can probably be repaired with a soldering iron, but its not like I pack one of those with me when I go out to a game.

General Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Another media freak out

It's another excuse to blame the tool rather than the person. It wasn't the shooters fault he decided to massacre school children, it was the guns fault. The gun made him do it. They are trying to push their agenda and scare people into thinking guns will kill no matter who has them. The leftist media is so anti-gun and anti 2nd amendment that they will create any kind of excuse to push their agenda.

I've just started ignoring them, nothing they have to say adds any real value to the discussion of public safety. They bitch and moan about the evils of firearms, but ask them to come up with a plan for securing a major American city and watch them hem and haw. We don't need to listen to them, they don't have anyone's best interests in mind other than their own.

Great pics Dave, thanks for putting on a great game. This AO was tough, reminds me of the games from the old days!

I usually wear Oakley M-Frames and I've been hit multiple times in the lenses, the worst was when a friend hit me at near point blank with a shot from his GBB. The lens had a big crack in it, but it was still in one piece. I also have ESS Turbofans for the big ops and also a pair of Wiley X SG1s, they all do the job fine.

I've been using the non-reinforced version for a few years now on my CA249 and CQB-R, I haven't had any durability issues with it.

(I know it may sound stupid) I hate it when people just be cheap and throw a grenade into the room and either no one calls hits or everyone is out because of a crappy grenade. i like the feel of knowing i took them out one by one. and also running onto your knees is good for sliding past an entrance so you can shoot targets while moving to cover

It's not cheap, its called tactics. The right tool for the right job.

Gonna have to agree with him there, besides its not worth messing your knees up, this is supposed to be fun and games, not a reason for ACL surgery. Airsoft really lends itself to a lot of leg/foot injuries in the first place, sliding around like that is like throwing rocks at a bee hive. Besides if people see it enough, they will just aim lower whenever they know you're playing ;)

What is the purpose for you high speed load out? Do you want to move quickly and have nothing in your way? To access your mags quickly or your secondary weapon? What works for me may not work for you. Practice over, over and over again with all equipment and weapons will speed up reaction time and movements. Without more information airsofts or exp cannot answer your questions. My 2 cent .  I should not ask but Why are you trying to slide??? ;D

i'm talking a lightweight loadout perfect for CQC. i go to vanguard frequently and it's comprised entirely of CQB, so i need to be fast. walking tanks are an easy target. and about the sliding, it's how i breach a room, i run as fast as i can so i'm low and harder to hit, yet I'm get into the room so i can take out hostiles

Wouldn't it just be easier to throw a thunder b into the room you want to breach? It sounds safer anyway, don't want to hyper extend anything, its just airsoft.

Accessories & Gear / Re: Fast Mag Pouches Review?
« on: November 10, 2012, 10:18:03 AM »
I've used a 6x fast mag + magpul configuration for about a year now. I'm definitely able to change mags faster and put more plastic downrange. If you're like me one of your concerns would be retention, especially if you are playing pretty hard and running all over the place. For me the real test would've been a major op, the fast mag + magpul setup worked well for me during this year's LC. There was lots of running and gunning that weekend, but I didn't lose a single mag. I think you will be happy with a fast mag setup.

Good times! When I look back at how many cactus needles I had to get pulled, I think to myself, maybe I should be called death by cactus instead.  ;D
