Battlefield 2 was probably the funnest Modern... War(time) type game I have ever played. Squad tactics were great, the game really forced you to work as a squad. And if you happened to get into a squad where everybody had microphones, you were unstoppable. My only problem with battlefield 2 was if you couldn't get a decent squad together, then heavy metal ruled the game. But for the most part, in it's hayday, it wasn't too difficult to put a decent squad together if you were lucky enough to hit the create squad button fast enough. (f6 I think it was?)
The bad company series strayed away from what made the battlefield franchise great, in my mind. Bad Company 1 was ok, Bad Company 2 I couldn't stand, especially the campaign.
I hope they learn from that and get back to battlefield 2's core greatness in BF3.
And I hope they do something different with vehicles, so you don't have 5 people standing on the helipad holding down E, and loosing control points cause half your team wants the Jet.
