Mainly for the guys who were at JT Phoenix on Tuesday..but hilarious nonetheless.

Of course, the parallels between this and airsoft are easily drawn. I mean, there's a scene with the LARPer's Ganef making some GEARS~~~!

I think theres a difference between airsoft and beating people with foam bats covered with duct tape.

Not really ....

Same effort, same BS calling/ignoring hits, they put on armor - we use Camo.

I was in the SCA for about 15 years, and have the broken bones to prove it.

I would say its kind of cool.  Yes they need to get laid.. But who doesnt really?  I think while they might be a little more hardcore than we are, its not really that different.  

I say do what you enjoy, other wise whats the point in going to work everyday and busting your ass for the man.  

Just my 2 cents.  Take it or leave it I dont really care I have a lot more where that came from.

Nope. Acting like knights, claiming 'realms', and etc. What makes that geeky over what 'we' do:

1. We base this on what could happen, and what's happening now adays. They base their crap on realms, and etc. I'm sure theres worse things, but I only watched half the video before I threw up.

2. They wear robes.

First I would not be cought dead wairing a kilt !!!

Second as strange as this looks it has its similarities with Airsoft. Just its gone midevil and corny.

If thats what they enjoy go for it!!!!

Personaly It would be funny to raid there field with a full Bravo ATTACK!!! :twisted:

I have to say, first sorry to dredge this thread up but someone posted a link and I hadn't seen it.

I can't belive how judgemental some of you are of this. T You must know they probably think about the same of this hobby.

When I was younger I actually did some of this stuff and was around the SCA (http://www.sca.org/ (http://www.sca.org/)) and went to ren-fairs and stuff.

I love our hobby but comparitively, the one thing I will say the other has going for it, it IS NOT a sausage fest. These guys usually know how to party, and do.

Uh, surplus, believe it or not, swordfighting takes a hell of a lot more skill than using a garand.  And besides, you totally missed the point.

Actually, having a battle with the weaponry and stuff would be kinda fun, it's just like airsoft but hand to hand.  It's just when you get fat guys in kilts throwing little dealy ma-bops at a guy dressed up in a paper grocery bag or a demon yelling 'lightning bolt, lightning bolt' while these things just pelt off him is kinda gay.  And wearing capes and stuff with stars on them...

Surplus.. shut it. If you were to shoot a handgun for killing purposes, that takes .0001 effort that a swordfight or whatnot needs. Now, firefights take tremendous skill, yes. But, still not as much as swords and stuff.

But, for christ sake.. I can't stress how stupid this LARP shit is. Yep.. speaking my mind. It's the kind of thing, where you make fun of them as much as you can, and they sit there and say "but my mom loves me!".. or they just don't get that you're making fun of them. LARP is gay, and that's all there is to it. It's based on stupid shit that never happened, and Airsoft is reenactment of what has happened/is happening/will happen, etc.
