Hey, next time you talk to him, ask him for his console number so I can add him.

Mine's 8158 3012 6397 4192.

After super nintendo I stopped playing the cookie cutter games.  I found that nintendo mainly concentrated on kids 5-14. Is it really that much better compared to the other systems now a days?

After Super Nintendo you stopped paying attention, then.

Games on Nintendo systems run the gamut. To be honest, Playstation probably has the most educational titles.

Wii is awesome, no matter how old you are.

That, and you're kind of mishmashing demographics.

It'd be more like, 5-9 and 14-18 (well, in like, unlucky kids households, or like, retards, it's more like 14 and up).

That's what I keep telling people. They all seem to think that nintendo is trying to get in good with all the school systems or something.

So far my experience has been that PC's will always be able to compete and then out perform any game console system. Just think about it, what new games could you play on the x-box or ps2 that didn’t look like crap compared to the PC version. Until they recently released the new consoles, that was the case.  I see that consoles and PCs will run very close in graphics for the next year or so then consoles abilities will stay stagnant while PCs move forward.

Also graphics dont just make a game, but they do a lot.  If the game is not fun to play in lets say playstation 1 form, then why make the same stupid game with better graphics?  At the same time games that used to be fun are probally not fun to me anymore. I find that most reasons why a game is not fun is because it only allows you limited options in control.  I like options and a lot of them, to me that makes the game different every time I play it, well because it would be. Sorry for the semi rant. Maybe I will try a Wii sometime.

I once heard someone say that consoles are a "snapshot" of graphics when they were released.  I've always thought that was a good way of thinking about it.

One thing I've always liked about Nitendo's games is that they tend to age very well.  You can play a NES/SNES/N64 game such as Mario, Zelda, Pilot Wings, etc. and they are still tons of fun, even though they are primitive by today's standards.

Has any of the change in game play made a difference for any of you (good or bad)
I dont own one yet, but I have been able to play Excite truck. I hate Sim Racers(ExTrk may not fall in this catagory), but with the new control I was able to enjoy the racing. Im hoping it changes the way I feel about FPS titles too.

It's awesome. Wii is the most fun I have had in video games in a very, very long time.

Excite Truck is most definitely not a simulation racer, it's an arcade racer.

- Actually I dare to say that PCs already outperform any consoles now released. You can put forward about $300 a year into one good desktop PC and you'll be able to play most games on their highest graphic settings. And even after that, there's ways of increasing a game's performance. Ultimately a console is cheaper than a computer, but IMO computers are much more useful and reliable.
- As for the Wii, I don't own one (yet). I have faith that Nintendo will invest in fun games that satisfy older players as well as kids (see: Call of Duty 3). I always believe in playability over other features, and Nintendo accomplishes that--though the next console they release would do well to try to keep up with Microsoft and Sony at least a little more than it has.
