Title: Echo 1 ASC SCAR-L
Post by: A-Blind-Nun on June 24, 2009, 09:02:18 AM
Hey guys I'm planning on getting this gun, but I should first ask do you think its worth it?
I can get it for $210

The factors I'm looking for are:
-no NEED of upgrades
-sniper-like performance
-Durability( I want this gun to last a very long time)
-mediocre rate of fire

all in all I'm looking for a designated marksman's rifle.

here is a link for some information about the gun and some pics are below.

If you want a DMR youll need a much longer barrel.

something like these

Good point, but I probably should have been clearer The Scar is the perfect size for me as a DMR( SR-25k is better though I will admit) if I put the INCLUDED barrel extension on, plus echo  1 (yes I know they are a rebrander) Internally upgrades their guns, so this is higher quality and has better performance, the ones on AGI I don't really trust(in terms of durability) but if you can give me a valid reason to trust those brands then I will be happy to look into those guns a bit more.

Thanks guys. :D

I personally own an echo one Scar. It is great I have not had any problems with it so far. It is pretty accurate and it hits pretty hard.

Mine is shooting 390 with .20g bbs. That is stock. When i got it first it was shooting around 415 with .20g and now it has stayed at 390. Good gun over all

Echo 1 rebrands alot of A&K guns, asgi is much more dependable than shorty. There are several people on the forums that have the sr25s. And a headsup on the "barrel extension" if i remember right theres no actual inner barrel in it, thus rendering it useless. The scar may be a perfect size for you, but that doesnt make it a DMR. I know your new and youll learn, Im just clearing some stuff up for ya.

This is the same gun that you are looking at, just labeled with the original maker instead of being rebranded by e1, Echo1 usually just cleans the gb and does quality assuarance[makes sure it works].

He is correct the inner barrel does not go all the way out. So if you do put the barrel extention it won't make a different. Even with the barrel that it has now it is very accurate

Ive had this gun for about a month now and it is well built and very solid. I added a madbull 363mm tight bore barrel to it so the barrel extension is actually useful and needed. It has a great rate of fire and can be very accurate at about 100 ft but like all stock E1 scars they have a weird hop up problem. Even on the lowest setting (no hop) they tend to curve the bb skyward at around 100 ft. I haven't gotten around to it yet but Ive read that getting new bucking can solve the problem, Systema or Element bucking was recommended, about 7 bucks. Also it uses a 8.4 small type battery, and although it will take a 9.6 large you gotta take the stock apart to get it in there, it wont slide into the cheek rest. Other then a few problems i love this gun, it works great and is something different from the same m4/m16 guns out there. I highly recommend it.
