To encourage more people to attend the new games at Fear Farm on Saturday, Havoc Wargames is going to extend a free admission to Rise of the Insurgents IV Sunday December 16th. to anyone who attends the Saturday Games leading up to Rise of the Insurgents. I know finding a place to play airsoft has gotten a little more difficult with Fightertown shutting down, and we would like to give as many people as possible a place to enjoy their hobby.

You may sign up by simply posting on AA topic for Rise and be sure to indicate which team you want to be part of. Slots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis so if you want to be on a certain team be sure to indicate it on your post.

Hey you guys should talk about lowering the price. I mean with fightertown it was 6 field for 15buck. Here there really is just one field. Just a thought.

How about some pictures of the place? When I think of Fear farm... I think of nothing but a corn field that has been plowed and nothing standing but some weeds and dirt.

Not that I am going to drive almost 2 hours, but I think it would help people in the general area if they saw what you built there.

They wanted to lower the price, but the guy that owns the land likes money, so he wont budge. I'd love it to be like 10-15 bucks but its not gonna happen. 20 bucks isnt much, I just dont take my girlfriend out. rather have some bromance anyways

If you use google earth and look up Fear Farm Phoenix, AZ. It will show a picture from June 28, 2012. It show all of the field. Some items have moved or been removed. Or send me a PM with email and I will forward the picture.

Not that I am going to drive almost 2 hours, but I think it would help people in the general area if they saw what you built there.

Here's some photos I took from the last game, I didn't really capture the whole field or gameplay as that wasn't my main focus.
The field makes a pretty decent AO IMO. Yeah, there are some open areas where the corn would be, but it's not acres apart like you may be thinking. The terrain is varied and has plenty of cover, including an empty pond complete with bridge, vehicles, assorted buildings such as a church, gas station and school, plus the two "factories" that PSC used for CQB. The buildings are fully furnished as well, which is a nice touch rather than the empty square rooms we're all used to. Some of the sessions had two games running at once, the field game and CQB in the yellow building. When everything is used all at once in one game, the field strikes a varied mixture of CQB and field play.

Essentially, Fear Farm as an AO is a like a small rundown town.

The images below should show off some of what I was talking about.

But, I agree with sgun480. If you live two hours out, I wouldn't worry about it since there is no guarantee on player headcount. It would be nice to check out at least once though.

SAT was a blast! I like this spot ALOT!

A couple ideas to help smooth things out.

1. The field had to be reduced to protect the public getting cars and people hit. Hanging some items from the fence to keep rounds from traveling to outside the areas. The southwest corner of fear farm had items we could use to cover the fence(if the owner gets us premission to use them) or we can get cardboard or tarps. I live close if you need a extra set of hands PM me.

2. REFs a vest(orange?) or Armband to ID Refs when they are on the field as Refs and not players. A couple games Ref were walking around with pistols on which lead to confusion are they playing or not. One Ref told a player the player was dead the Ref had shot him three times in the back. We never saw him playing. How are we to know if they are playing or not? We want them to have fun to.

3. REF Location For Ref Safety If we could resriction the Refs to the outer areas of the playing field that would help. Severval times Refs would walk into the middle of a fire fight resricting one side or the other from shooting without hitting the Refs.

4. A break down of times posted on this site and at fear farm. Chrono from this time to this time. Safety Brief from this time to this time. It will help everyone know when the 1st game will start and will reduce wait time and keep the players who are ready happy.

These are just suggestion to help get as many games in as possible. My 2 cents Thanks

We were told there wouldn't be any more soccer games this year, but I think I heard the owner has plans to set up nets like at Fightertown. It wasn't supposed to be a problem.

We're actively looking for vests, right now we only have one. We're just trying to not pay full price if we don't have to; the one we have was bought at Goodwill.

If refs only stick to the outside of the field, it limits our view of what we can see going on in the middle of the field. If a ref gets in your way, wave at them to move, or if they aren't looking, yell. I personally had tried to keep out of firefights, but everyone makes mistakes, and I did wander into some hidden player's line of fire once or twice. We're sorry, but it happens. It's a necessary evil.

We'll look into that, but it doesn't really allow for late arrivals if we shut the chrono station down after, say, 9:30.

Oh, just so you guys all know, there won't be a game at Fear Farm this Saturday, the 8th, due to the entire game staff attending Red Sleigh Down that same day. I didn't feel it warranted its own thread, so I'm posting it here. We should resume normal games on the 15th though, barring unforeseen circumstances.

1. Even though we were told that there weren't any games and there were we contacted the owner. There is now more green netting up, I checked today.
2. Fresnel summed this up pretty well but to the ref (me) shooting the guy I found this which pretty much summed up what happened
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoxaesTPKYs
3. Skipping 3 cause Fresnel got this one pretty good.
4. As Fresnel said we'll look into it. If you want more detail on times I'm sure if you PM Phoenix Shadow Company, Fresnel, or I we can help you out a little bit in the mean time.

a ref is a ref. if you want to have fun then join the game don't walk around calling people dead bcuz you shot them and saying they didnt call their hits like a cheater..

I did in fact shoot you. As s ref we're not shooting people just cause when people don't appear to call hits we will shoot you to see if you're honest. Maybe you didn't feel it, but I did shoot you. The green team did feel people werent calling hits as well, which is why you got shot.

What Birdman said is the incorrect methods. If we revive a complaint about hit calling we will pull that person aside and talk to them. I was not aware that this happened due to the fact of my injury.
