I put my dump pouch either on my belt or on the bottom row of pals webbing on my mav. I am not knocking the dump pouch, nor using a cargo pocket. I am just saying that it is somtimes quicker to let a mag fall and grab a new mag then to make another motion and put it in your cargopocket/dump pouch. And if you do drop a mag the magpul and ranger plate will buffer it more then a mag without. I am also well aware as I said above about the fact that you cannot put either magpul or ranger plate on a hicap mag. Some like the hicap, I do not. I like the realism of periodically changing mags, and the mid-low caps are less prone to damage. my dump pouch is faster then a cargo pocket, because it has an always open top that has a firm border to hold it open and most importantly it has a oneway sinch tinggy made of shockcord and will keep my mags from falling out and getting lost like RickEJ6's did. ask me at one of the next games an I will let you check it out, you can ask raith too, he has the same. Not everyone can afford that little bit of high speed gear but you never understand unless you have tried it. To each their own of course.

I have seen some of the DBT battle lab stuff and it is realy cool!, I got my RAV from DBT but you must admit they have a tendancy to have a lot of things out of stock too, especially battle lab stuff, and are a bit partial to the mill-LE community. For good reason though. Be sure to call ahead with them too.

I guess I am just not hard core like you harley, I have a csm dump pouch. Never mind that, what I was saying is how fast can you slip a mag into one of your cargo pockets? how fast can I put a mag in my dump pouch? not as fast as I can drop a mag. And as for hicaps you can't put a ranger plate on one anyway. I remember at cold burn when I was in the house and guys were entering, i knew I was low on ammo in my mag so i knelt down dropped it on the floor grabbed a new mag and poped out just in time to shoot. I am not debating the ethics of dropping mags, i was mearly pointing out how mag pulls and ranger plates can absorb some of the shock in case you do drop a mag. Whether you need to or not is up to you, I think someone who has enough money and wits to buy ranger plats would know when and where to drop a mag when they need to. and Raith, I swear it was my mag I dropped not yours, i think...

I did not mean that you did not have time to properly remove your mag, you always have time to do that but not everybody has a dump pouch that is easily acessed and in a quick moment you may need to drop one. I have done this on several occasions with my ranger plated TM mags and the rubber plate absorbs the bulk of the shock. Does having ranger plates mean that I can go whilie nilly throwing my mags around, no! But if I had to I could. I certianly do not want to leave my mags on the ground especially with ranger plates on them, for some thieving loser to benifit.

I hope that you are not just saying that because you feel embarrased to order over the phone because of your age or civvy status. Lightfighter is a great site, and they provide a great service to a lot of customers, but cut them a little slack, you are going after military items during a war. and lightfighers popularity has outstepped its ability to meet the demands of its customers, and on top of all that they are changing their site and computer systems. Not an easy thing for a company as lage as LF to do. just relax, cut them some slack, shop around and perhaps seek out a replacement to your beloved STRIKE gear. There is so much great gear out there and TT is one of the best compaies I have ever done buisness with and most of their stuff is in stock. cordura is the same no matter how you slice it, though single stich is not a sign of trust in their thread. There is no one stop shop home depot for tactical gear. unless you are a police department and have DBT do all your outfitting. I sat on hold for 20 min for lightfighter and had a good conversation with one of thier stock girls, though nothing was accomplished.

Introduce Yourself! /

I am Ganef, I used to be spectre on the old forumns but due to technical problems I could not get to my old e-mail adress in time and when i went to sign up with my old name, it was taken...bastard! so after $8 in new nametapes I am ganef, nka, b-pos. I am an eagle scout and played airsoft before I served a mission for my church in east africa(kenya, ethiopia). i have since returned and jumped right back in to the sport I like. I am a student of mechanical engineering at ASU and have always been fascinated by military go-faster gear. I admit I had a eagle tac-3 detachable vest, but now I have a RAV. I thought for a while about paintball, but like the realism and honor of airsoft. I also want to sharpen important gunfighting skills and understand perhaps a little bit of what it means to be in the military. My gear is posted on the gear board. I worked as a welder and machinist and Raith dissuaded me when my homemade steel tappet plate for my mp5 just did not work right. Raith and Kurn and I went to JH school with me and we have been friends ever since, of corse over the 2 years I was gone they have excelled in AA rank where I have not. I am dedicated to airsoft in az and will be around for a while.  Feel free to hit me up for welding projects, I am always looking for a job to do.

Not only do magpul ranger plates allow a nice positive grip for easy mag change, they also make your airsoft mags about teh same height as a normal 30rnd M4 mag, and they provide a rubber bumper so if you are changing mags and need to drop one you can and it's landing will be cushoned by the magpul or ranger plate and not damage your mag. The ranger plates are a bit expensive at $21 for 3 but it adds an extra bit of high speed that may mean the difference in a close battle, and they look damn cool. magpul PTS seems to be coming out with airsoft mags that already have ranger plates on them, I do not know how much they cost but would be worth checking out.

I have delt with them quite a few times, and am currently dealing with the results of a few of their problems. i ordered some things online(stupid) and they were out of stock(duh) and then canceled a few of the items(good) but they canceled my whole order(doh!) so i called and talked to them and tried to work things out, but to no avail. I will just wait untill it either shows up on my door or they fix the computer problems to work things out. One of the downsides is that with most "hot" gear, paraclete, MLCS, Eagle, etc... the things are mostly out of stock everywhere anyway, but that means that they are contiually buying stuff like that. it of course depends on what you are getting but sometimes you just better get in line and hope for the best, like the R.A.I.D. packs and smoke green paraclete upright GP pouches. bulk orders and having a good rep with those companies does help a bit too. also be on the lookout for specials from companies like paraclete or subscribe to the Lightfighter forumn and get enough posts to take part in the high end swap meet, you can get most of the "hot" gear there too, and faster if you are quick with the trigger.
