I did see that, but that link can't be seen from all pages.  The old forums allways had the active topics link at the top of the page.  I'm guessing the forum software is locked and you wont be able to make that link visible from all pages.  If you could, that would be awesome.

The forum is only a "base".  As it stands now, it has been heavily modified.  It's a change I can make.  I'll see about doing it.

It's always nice to see people support that position or opinion but alas, it's just that.  Another opinion.  I don't think I'd run out and start patting people on their backs and firing up victory cigars quite yet.

I agree, but it's always nice to know that the DOJ agrees with the bare minimum.   :?

Mr. Joseph, there's a "view new topics since last visit" link that's similar to active topics in the old forums.  It's on the upper right hand area.

-Wraith- thanks, I fixed the permissions issue.

-MAD SARGE- thanks for the suggestion.  I'll see if I can't work in some customizations and improvements in the profile, like adding birthdays (and even having them appear on the calendar).  Good idea.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions guys - this is YOUR forum - I'm just trying to make the best and most stable forum as we grow.   :D

Informational Links / PLEASE READ IF YOU USE AOL EMAIL!
« on: December 19, 2004, 07:10:15 PM »
Please note that if you use an AOL email address, you will NOT be able to receive any email from these forums, as AOL doesn't accept web-generated email from our domain (airsoftarizona.com) and/or web server IP address (216.119.112.155/mail.airsoftarizona.com).  I tried contacting AOL about this (we're a closed relay to spamming), but they don't care because I am not an AOL customer.  So unless one of you who IS an AOL customer takes this issue up with them, I would highly recommend using some other email account rather than AOL.

In the meantime, if your account on this (or the old) forum has an AOL email in it as the email address, please email me with your username, your AOL email address and a new non-AOL email address and I can update it for you.  If you don't email me with those THREE items, I can't help you!

Thanks.

Yes, there's an "Active Topics" link - a few of you have found it already.  It's called "View posts since last visit" and it is found in the top right-hand area.  I'll probably tweak it a bit.

I will also make the ranks smaller - I agree that they are a bit too large.

Also, as already stated, the forum *look* will change (eg - new colors).

Real Firearms / DOJ Concludes 2nd Amendment "Secures individual right&q
« on: December 19, 2004, 09:22:10 AM »
First off, the entire report is available at http://www.usdoj.gov/olc/secondamendment2.htm

NEWS RELEASE
JUSTICE DEPT. CONCLUDES 2ND AMENDMENT 'SECURES INDIVIDUAL RIGHT'

The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) and Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) today hailed a report from the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Legal Counsel that concludes the Second Amendment "secures an individual right to keep and bear arms."

Though dated Aug. 24, the 93-page document was just released. It details the exhaustive research by Assistant Attorneys General Steven G. Bradbury, Howard C. Nielson, Jr. and C. Kevin Marshall who studied the history of legislation and court cases to reach their conclusion. They note that, "our examination of the original meaning of the Amendment provides extensive reasons to conclude that the Second Amendment secures an individual right, and no persuasive basis for either the collective-right or quasi-collective-right views."

"This report confirms what the gun rights community has known to be true for many years," said SAF founder Alan M. Gottlieb. "The right to keep and bear arms is a right to be enjoyed and exercised by every citizen. Henceforth, all Americans will know that the claim by anti-gunners that the Amendment only protects some mythical right of the states to form militias and National Guard units is an outright fraud."

"For too long," stated CCRKBA Executive Director Joe Waldron, "enemies of individual liberty have lied to the American public. They've tried to convince us that we have no right of self-defense, no right to own firearms as personal property, and no right to have the means to resist tyranny, which is what the Founding Fathers specifically had in mind when they wrote the Second Amendment. There is nothing in the Amendment about 'sporting purposes,' duck hunting or target shooting, and the anti-gunners know it. Now all Americans know it, too."

"There should be no doubt," Gottlieb concluded, "that those who have campaigned for restrictive gun laws or outright gun bans have been working to rob Americans of a constitutional right, a civil right. The time has come for America to re-examine every restrictive federal and state firearms statute, every local ordinance and every regulation, and start erasing those that were written solely to infringe on the rights of individual, law-abiding citizens to peaceably own firearms of their choice, without ever again having to explain why."

« on: December 19, 2004, 08:48:05 AM »
Of course, as I mentioned, I will be making additional changes and some minor upgrades.  Most notably, the forums are in the "default" color scheme, so that will be the biggest/most notable change I will be making soon though others will also be coming.

Before you give your opinion, please take a few minutes to browse around and familiarize yourself with some of the new features.

Try posting...
Look at/use the links up top...
Browse around some of the posts...
Check out the calendar and mini-calendar...
Etc...

Post your opinions, questions, etc...  here.

Thanks!

AIRSOFTARIZONA OFFICIAL GAME INFO

For Saturday, January 4, 2003 (this Saturday – the first Airsoft game of 2003!) @ Badger Springs:

We will meet at the Chevron station off the I-17 and Anthem Way at 7:00AM. That's the gas station on the NORTH side of the road. We will LEAVE the station at 7:30AM SHARP! You can either meet us at the gas station to caravan up, or just meet us at the AO in Badger Springs if you know where it is. If you don't, please be at the gas station by 7AM.

We should arrive at the AO at around 8AM. Everyone has 30 minutes after we arrive to get geared up and ready for the briefing before we begin the mission prep and play.

Please remember: Come prepared to pack in and carry all the gear/BB's/Batteries/Ammo you plan to use for the duration of the games!! There is a good chance that the scenarios will NOT allow you the time to go back to the staging areas/cars and gear up between them. If you are not present for the briefings of each scenario, you WILL NOT PLAY. We lose a lot of playing time during the time between scenarios when everyone seems to strip all their gear off, etc... so please plan on not being able to do that this time.

This game will be held in a thick desert setting in Yavapai County north of Black Canyon City just off the I-17, and as such, please be aware that it CAN still get quite warm, but the weather should be very pleasant this time of the year, so take appropriate measures. This will be in the *desert*, so if you have it, desert-type camoflauge/BDU's would be most appropriate for this game - although woodland camo lends itself to good use as well (plenty of greenish colors). Please bring LOTS of water, and food.

That being said, the local authorities for the area have been contacted and are knowledgeable of what we're doing there - and when, but some who are out-of-the-loop are known to show up not knowing what we’re doing, so please be aware.

EVERYONE, MUST TURN IN A NEW WAIVER FOR 2003!!  Even if you turned one in last game, it is a new year and has expired now. Please go to the web site under the "links" section, print it out, fill it out and bring it to the game. I will not be at this game (a last minute California trip came up – so I have to fly to California on the 4th) so please give all completed waiver to Mike.  Please fill out the waiver COMPLETELY and bring it with you to the game. A partially completed waiver will NOT be accepted at ALL. There will NOT be any extra copies of it, so print it out and fill it out BEFORE you come.

Remember, players must meet the age rule - 18+ only (with the allowances for younger than that, ONLY when accompanied by their parent 100% of the time, or their sponsor). If someone younger than 18 shows up without a parent or sponsor, this allowance will be removed and AA will be 18+ ONLY without any exceptions, as I have said before. So if you show up with your parent, and your parent leaves (even for 5 minutes), you ruin it for everyone under the age of 18. Sorry, but that's the way it has to be. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS on this rule - as always.

This game is for AA Members, and their friends.

Please bring plenty of water
Please bring your GBB's
Please bring your RED RAGS - If you don't have one - YOU DON'T PLAY! There will NOT be any extras!!!!!!!!!!!

If you recently joined AirsoftArizona (there have been a couple in the last few weeks), your 'death rag' and AirsoftArizona name tape will be given to you at the February game. If you cannot make it to that game, e-mail Paco (paco@airsoftarizona.com) to make arrangements to get your name tape and/or death rag if you just joined AA.

Make sure you bring all your gear ready, batteries charges, mags loaded, etc...

Please do not remove ANY of your airsoft weapons before we get to the field. After gearing up, we will go over the rules (briefly), answer questions, chrono guns and then turn in waivers. Mike will then briefly go over the scenarios for the day, and divide up the teams.

Good luck, and we'll see you all on Saturday!

For game discussion and additional info, use the forums.

Paco

EVERYONE, that has not turned in a waiver yet, and plans to be at this game needs to fill one out (on the web site under the "links" section) and bring it to the game. ...but aren't those NiMH batteries?  If they're NiCD, then that's a great deal...  if they're NiMH, it's still decent, but NiMH have a progressive discharge...  you will start with a normal high rate of fire that will progressively get slower as the battery is used.  NiCD will have a full output through its entire charge cycle and only drop off at the moment it runs out of juice.
