In a supreme effort to keep airsoft growing in the South Arizona region, Sierra Vista Airsoft and Knight Watch Productions have tirelessly searched for appropriate, legal and interesting venues for our campaigns. After intense politicking with the City Manager of Sierra Vista, the Cochise Land Commissioner and several powerful land owners, we have solidified a deal !

This is one of many areas that we have secured for our games and there are more negotiations currently underway. SVA is bringing MilSim to a whole new level for South Arizona. Come try out a game.

We have the Command Post and LP/OP covered.  Check out the Knight Watch Modular Bunker System.

The SVA crew is doing a walk-around Saturday and we will take a lot of pictures.  The running idea at this time is to make a series of games based on a Vietnam theme hosted at this new land.

This is a link to a video that shows the typical density of the vegetation in the Valley.  Fire fights will be intense.

Glad to hear the land situation has been cleared up. Heard nothing but positive reviews of the past games. Get a big one going and post it up. It may very well be worth the drive.

I hosted a small skirmish at the field and the results were disheartening.

Pros:
  • Some amazing terrain that simulate jungles. Thick vegetation that offers ample of cover and concealment.  The elevation changes are not too drastic and offer some tactical advantage but leave a player vulnerable due to the lack of cover on the hills.
  • Private land with the full permission and encouragement of the land owner.
  • Plenty of space to field 30 v 30 games.
Cons:
  • The road into the land is difficult for a 2wd car. The unpaved road crosses some small washes that may bottom out a lower riding vehicle.
  • A SEVERE hazard on the field is several holes in the ground that are at least 3' deep, and only 1-2' in diameter and hidden by the vegetation.  A player can easily snap a leg if he fell into one of these while moving.
  • Most of the brush is composed of thorny bushes that make traversing off the paths uncomfortable
  • The land is located east of the San Pedro River which makes the drive from Tucson or Phoenix less than convenient.
  • There is no road that traverses the field, so deploying the far team is problematic
  • The similar valleys cause terrain confusion for those new to the area. Easy to get lost. Placing preexisting props would be a pain in the butt.

With that said, I'm not planning on hosting any large games at this location.  I am filming some action scenes there for a micro movie.

Knight Watch is still in negotiations with the Babacomari Ranch attorneys to solidify an agreement to use their land for OPs. The talks are going well, but movement is slow.  A good sign is that they have given me a the code to the Eastern gate.  We have walked with the ranch foreman and picked out three potential fields that have the river running through them.  If it goes as I predict we will have three fields (70 acres each) that we can use. I'll let everyone know as soon as I get something solid.

the idea of playing with that much space sounds very fun.
