Ya the wire or 'Sensi" masks are okay, a lot of people wear glasses underneath them because BIO BB's have been known to fragment.

Ditto with Pryde, what waiver(s) are required?

I'll go on Green (provided I have the proper waivers...)
Title:
Post by: andyhinds on September 19, 2005, 10:03:27 AM
No waivers required, just stringent (spel) rules regarding eye protection for minors.

We'll also spend the first 10 min removing any potentially dangerous wood, metal, etc. from the building.

We've been saying that for the last three times we went out there, but it never happens. This time Im going to show up early, and Id like to see it actually get done. (green for me andy). Anyway, Id reallly like to see some real innitiative towards cleaning this place up. Even if its just throwing some of the old plywood and sheet metal out the windows. I mean it probably wont even take 15 minutes at the most, and if you get all of your gear ready the night before, you can start playing pretty much right after you finish cleaning up.

...no I'm not going sniper full time...just part time, I still love rocking things up with an AEG.

True... but people have always been showing up late the last couple of games, plus the heat has been a factor.  We'll make an effort this time.

Absolutley, it will be a full on game, AEG's, sniper rifles, etc.  We don't have a crono, so if you haven't crono'd your rifle before, you can't use it.  If we get a complaint about somebody thinking the gun is shooting hot, it will have to sit out  :(   Bummer I know, but I don't have a crono.

Also keep in mind, all player 16, 17yrs old MUST wear a full face mask, the crap about "I can't wear one and use my scope" won't change my mind.

I understand your concern, and respect your decisions.

Really though, signed waivers don't mean much in court. Ask some of the lawyers that post on here.

Me, I'll play, regardless. See ya there.

It's like saying you won't drive your car anymore on public streets cause no one has a signed waiver to not sue you if you get into an accident with them.

But What ever you decide is your choice. Like Mooncruiser said, "Me, I'll play regardless. See ya there".
Title:
Post by: andyhinds on September 20, 2005, 11:54:20 AM
My opinion on waivers is this, it doesn't protect you from sh1t.  You can sue somebody regardless of a waiver, players don't get a copy of each others waivers only the organizer does, sooooo how do you know the organizer's waiver is robust enough to cover everybody.

The simpler solution is that I make the game 18yrs and older.  If you go out and buy an airsoft gun, buy the gear, get online to find where to play, drive yourself there.  Then you probably know that there is SOME inherent danger in playing the sport.  Buy either way, I will heed the advice regarding waivers.

The game will now be 18YRS AND OLDER ONLY.  This way we don't need to worry about parents of minors suing players if there is an injury.

First post is updated, 18YRS OLD IS THE MINIMUM AGE.

Hinds, i think your "ADULTS ONLY" gig a direction that you probably don't want to go in if you dont want to alienate a significant percentage of local (tucson) airsofters, as well as those who show up to your games (then again, this could be something your aiming for).

Very smooth.

And just look at how many people who were planning on going (including myself) that now can't, or else chose not to in the name of comradery, because your afraid someone "might get sued."

If everyone lived their life in the fashion that they could get sued at every moment... then how would they live at all?

Ever heard of a minor's parents suing an adult because they shot their kid with an airsoft game at a waivered game?
Title:
Post by: warlock on September 20, 2005, 04:33:10 PM
Sorry, I'll have to bow out of this one, with all due respect.

Any game where any member of TAC is not welcome, out of respect for my teammates I'll not attend.

I know your switch is intended to keep everything on the up-and-up, but adults sue each other too.

Everything with you is drama, organize a game yourself, then you can complain.  The majority of the players are 18+yrs old (only 2/20 last time were <18yrs)

No I haven't (but I'm sure one has).  I have a house, couple of cars, quads, dirt bike, sport bike, guns, etc.  When you have a house, family, etc. then you can take chances and discuss the potential of having somebody's parent sue you for your skateboard or whatever you ride.

Ok, first off, Andy is the one putting this together... so he gets to make the rules.  If you don't like it, PM him on it and keep it off the forum.  We don't need to hear anyone's negativism.

Second, Andy is quite right.  A waiver will not protect you one iota from being sued.  Even with a waiver, you can still get sued AND loose everything you own.  While they are helpful, they are not a bulletproof shield.

So, if you're going to go... go.  If not, then don't.  But let's not turn this into a drama that it doesn't need to be.   :?

Hey guys what's up!

I can go!  I'm about 30min. from the AO...  The bad news is that I will not have all my gear and weapons in time for the event.  I'm getting ready as fast as I can with paying bills and all.  Can I tag along as an observer???  I can bring my Dig. Camra and fill the roll as "Combat Photographer" for the day.  Plus, this will be a great oppertunity for me to introduce myself and meet all of you as well.  I have my sidearm right now....(Semi-Auto M92).  At least I could bring somthing!  And I'll bring the Camra for pics as well.

Let me know if my request is approved or not...

Hey thanks Chip!

I look forward to it.  Like I said...with bills and daily needs, it's challanging to balance my Airsoft funds with my bills!  LOL  I'm ordering my M-16A1 AEG on Wendsday so I can get it here ASAP!  Plus I'm moving funds to pick up extra mags, batterys, etc...  I ordered the rifle from Depot 53 so it's going to take some time...

If someone would be nice enough to let me get some more trigger time...that would be great.  But if all fails I have my pistol.  And if I have to...I'll find some dirt clots to use LOL!   :D

I'm also sniper qualified and just finished building a new suit!  I'm goin to bring it along to see how it preforms in the field.  This way I can get some feedback and see what needs to be improved if anything.  After the games are finished for the day, perhaps we can play a little "find the sniper" to see how well the suit works.  Anyhow, thank you for the warm welcome...it goes along way troop.  I'll see you in the bush...

DEPOT 53....you never heard of em?  There based in Dallas Texas and are one of the largest Airsoft retailers in the nation.  Just go to www.depot53.com (http://www.depot53.com) and check out there site.  They got some good deals going right now, and there prices are fair.  They carry every brand you can think of, there not too bad in my opinion.  But then again a'm still a little wet behind the ears... :D There may be better deals out there....

The price is a little high but if ya had the money....why not?

Yeah I could see them being a pain to maintain and get spare parts for.  But if you take care of the weapons and clean them inside and out....you would think they would last.  But yeah, I'm a heavy weapon man.  When the sh!t hits the fan...it's nice to hear a 60 or a couple a SAW's returning fire!  And if you need to break contact and withdraw....those weapons will keep your enemy's heads down long enough for you to pull back.  I don't know of anyone friend or foe who would go head to head with a 60 or a few SAW's!  Plus they are wonderful for protecting your flanks and providing suppresing fire....one of these days man!  One of these days.... :D

IF you ever decide to get a SAW , get the Classic Army M249. It uses a v2 gearbox as opposed to the outdated, piece of crap bellows system the TOP guns use.

Post by: RangerBob on September 25, 2005, 03:58:55 PM
But, I'm coming from Sierra vista :(
If I could meet up with someone in tucson and head from there to the AO with them, that'd be great.
It's not so much the gas that I'm worried about...just...lot of driving for a game, so I'd rather not do the whole thing if I don't have to.
Well, if anyone is up for it, let me know.

Ricky, there is not much of a place to snipe at the AO the game is at. Your better off packing light and using some sort of CQB weapon.

Bullsh1t, there's plenty of places, hell the building is right next to a big HILL what more of a sniping location do you want!  Building for cover, cactus, long grass, etc.
Bring a sniper rifle, there will be plenty of opportunity to snipe! [smilie=armata_pdt_35.gif]

Title: STARS AND STRIPES...
Post by: Skokauckas on September 26, 2005, 08:35:35 PM
Furthermore....

For the Operation on 1st. October, 2005...I will be acting as a "Combat Photographer/Reporter" from STARS & STRIPES.  I'm bringing along my Digital Camra waith a couple memory cards and batteries.  I would like to capture this OP on film and would like to submit the pictures to Arizona Airsoft.  We seem not to have any pictures up for 2005...I intend to change that.  Now I know this is not an "OFFICAL" event...however I think we can catch some great photos here.  I will have eye protection and other "goodies" but for a good part of the day...I will be shooting my camra and getting some shots of the troops.  SO please...Try not to shoot the photographer! LOL  Also..if you are Sniper qualified...bring your weapons and suits!  Being a sniper myself...I would like to meet you guys and catch you on film as well.

Now this is my "temp" assienment because I'm still buying weapons and gear...and is not ready dor the field yet.

So, if anyone has any questions...please let me know..

Yeah, I'll wear a bright arm-band or somthing.  I'll bring along my M-92 sidearm so I can play in a pistol game or somthing like that.  I'll be wearing full BDU's for the OP.  Seem's right sense I see all the pics of everyone involved.  World Class Warrior's!  All of you!  :D And sense we do "military simulation"....It would be odd to run around in jeans and shirt!  LOL

Anyhow, I'll see you guys at the meet and greet.

Do you think it'll be too hot for bdu's?
Title: Too HOT for BDU's? BDU-101
Post by: Skokauckas on September 30, 2005, 08:02:16 PM
Well that depends what type of BDU's you wear.  See our armed forces issue to versions.  "Summer" & "Winter/Fall".  The summer BDU's are a lighter rib-stop so you don't become so hot that you fall over and die!  The winter BDU's are more heavy in construction and retain your body heat to keep you warm.  I have both issues.  And sense we live in the "Frying Pan of the Earth".....I'm leaning more towards my hotter climate BDU's.  And besides...Airsoft is 95% Military Simulation right?  So why not get into the game!  Get into the mindset and have fun.  But that's just me.  I like to live the moment...why not?

HOOYA!

As you'll learn after your first game -- almost nobody plays in t-shirt and jeans.
Title:
Post by: studdermonkey on September 30, 2005, 08:49:47 PM
Yeah, you wear bdu's, it's never EVER too hot for bdu's. It's just what you wear UNDER them, whatever layers.

I shouldn't even be posting, I'm not even going
Title:
Post by: pythonline on September 30, 2005, 09:03:20 PM
I dont necessarily keep my bdu jacket on, but I wear a camo t-shirt matching the team that I'm on, so when its too warm, can just take the jacket off and still am technically not in the "jeans and t-shirt" category

Yes, I'm kidding, but you should go.
Title: AFTER ACTION REPORT....
Post by: Skokauckas on October 02, 2005, 01:41:26 PM
First, I would like to thank everyone who showed up for the Florence OP.  Yes, we did have a weak presence...but we still had a good time.  I would also like to thank eveyone involved for the respect, kindness, and the "open-arms" attitude towards me.  :D   I have never meet a group of people with such kindness.  John.....you are the man!  You did not hesitate to let me try out your weapon for some trigger time!  And for this you have my thanks and my upmost respect.  Chip!  I love your go and get em additude!  There was a few times when you had to "kick me in the pants"... I respect that.  Thank you for your knowelge and insight as well.  There are so many people I wish to thank...but I don't think there is enough room! LOL  I had a great time shooting the cam and checking out this paticular AO.  I would recommend this AO for future operations in the Florence area.  I will hopefully be able to have the pics posted soon for everyone to see.

Once again....thankyou gentlemen for allowing me to tag along on this OP.  I learned many new things I hope to employ in future Airsoft games.
