I have ben looking at these guns myself and i have found that the L96 is the better one. It has higher FPS and better reviews. If your still not sure just read customer reviews on both and see what people said. Also the L96 is better looking IMO.

I have the MB04 same as the mb05 with out the adjustable buttstock.  It does have the adjustable cheek rest.  At its pretty powerful.  I can't speak for the L96 which was the rifle i was torn between as well.  But after dialing in the hop up and the scope i can't complain about the mb04.  I've fabricated a suppressor for mine, really for mor asthetic purposes than anything else and painted the stock and the barrel.   The action is great, accurracy is amazing at 75yds I can hold a 4 inch grouping, and taking out soda cans at 100 yds is quite possible.  I've seen some stuff on spring mods and tried them but once i do reassembly i can't get it to cock, so i've the spring alone and just done the hop up adjustments, Besides that was a pretty affordable buy for me.  My hearts set on a socom m82 someday however.  I haven't chrono'd it but i'm sure i'm up near 500fps, considering using .25g from 50 ft away it'll penetrate 4 soda cans.  IMO its a great rifle, and come's with everything you could want from a good scope to a great bipod.  Only issue i have is, like the L96 it has 2 allen screws that hold it to the stock and on initial assembly i could only get one of the two to engage.  but its still solid.

Having a higher FPS does not make it a better gun.

I also don't think that 500FPS with a .25 is four soda cans at 50 feet?

hey i never said it was possible in the first shot,  but its possible with a bit of windage.   last time i tried it it took bout 12 shots and that was in a warehouse so crosswind wasn't a factor.  but now i guess i'll have to make a video to prove the 4 soda can thing (empty soda cans BTW)
