TM VSR10
« on: November 02, 2010, 10:53:53 PM »
I came accross this gun and I like it a lot. http://redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airso ... _Stock.htm

There is an upgrade option that can put it to 450fps.

My main concern is if this gun will perform. I want a spring rifle that will shoot around 50+ ft farther than your 400fps AEG. Or I would at least like it to be very accurate.

I never use sniper rifles in airsoft games since I always thought they were somewhat useless. But I'm hoping I will find a gun that will prove me completely wrong.

So what's your opinion on this gun?

Thanks,
VTT

I have yet to find a stock sniper rifle that out performs an aeg. The upgrade option That your referring to probably isn't worth the money, I don't know for sure because that's up to you. But honestly your much better off doing your own upgrades which is not something that you can just do super quick and cheap. To really make your upgrades worth it you have to put alot of money into it but before you decide to do that I would recommend thinking long and hard about if you really want to play a sniper type role in Airsoft. The game play is much much different and very slow paced.

Let me refer you to a very very helpful post.

Haha yeah I read this a while back. I realize thatt the pace is much slower and you have to be very patient. I bought one of those l96 spring rifles and I basically sold it instantly and never used it because my AEG out performed it.

I am willing to play the sniper role as long as I know that I am able to get a rifle that has at least some benifits to it. In my mind, the wait is worth the rush of getting that one hit.

I also know that it is definitely not as inexpensive to get a decent gun. I have a good amount that I am willing to spend, but I want help on what is the best for what I am looking for. I am by no means an airsoft tech even though I've been in the sport for quite some time. I just want to play a new role for a while.

I really like this gun that I've found, but will I be able to make it good enough to compete with the 400fps AEG's? What upgrades would I need?

I like redwolf because I have had very good experiences with them and they are very reliable. I also like the upgrade options they have so that I don't have the chance of messing up the gun installing it myself.

I currently own a utg mk96 and I've put all the upgrades into it that I can and I would guess that its been close to 1000. Some of that was trial and error so I'd probably have a better guess about 800 in upgrades would do it.

As far as their upgrade deal I have no idea what it is but in my own personal opinion its much better to do your own upgrades and you can't really mess up doing your own upgrades on a spring rifle. I was reading about the hop up system in the TM and I really don't know how well it works but I'd imagine that if its TM its gotta be good. I run pdi parts in my gun and I'm very very pleased with everything in it. The other thing with spring upgrades is that some games allow higher fps than other games. So because of that I have 2 springs for different games. One for under 500 and one just under 600. That is just another reason to do all your own upgrades. Redwood and many other websites carry all of the pdi upgrades so you don't really have to worry about not having parts to upgrade it with.

Also just as a side note do not get a sniper rifle with super reflective metal on it. And I understand that you will probably paint it or something of the sort but paint rubs off and the little things give you away. Trust me and learn from my mistakes.

You can make your gun compete with aeg's but you definitely need the upgrades.

I hope that this has been useful and that I haven't just been blabbering for nothing.

hahaha yeah I agree. That gun looks bad ass with the silver on wood but you are right when you say it will get noticed too fast. Even orange tips are noticable from a mile away. I think I'm going to go with a tanaka gas sniper rifle. I've heard all good reviews about them so far.
