Well G-55 (Maruzen MP5k clone)
« on: February 23, 2009, 10:07:57 PM »
I got home tonight and what do you know, it was sitting in by my door.  As expected, external finish is lacking compared to the Maruzen but the performance leaves me hopeful.  The gun actually seems to have much less wobble than my Maruzen.  However, my Maruzen is probably 5 years old, so obviously that plays a part.  That said, the Well has a noticeably stiffer recoil spring.  I need to do some actual chrono testing, but the mags also seem to come with a high flow valve as the performance of either gun seems much better with the Well mags.  The mags, I'm also pleased with as they seem to have done a very good job on them.  Obviously, it needs some field time before making any final judgments but so far, for $55, I am very happy with it.  Even if just used for parts, that makes it worth it.

And happy days, the Well has a threaded cap, unlike my Maruzen.  Yay, no sight block swapping.

I got mine from magical review fairies.  Right now the best place to get them is RSOV.  Shipping for just one is $50, but if you get more than one, the shipping becomes much more manageable.  I would probably wait for pointact to get them in though.  Hopefully they will have spare mags by then.

already found that, and if it was NOT for the mag issue I would have one on the way. (also found m249 box mags freakishly cheap)

If you find they are a good gun let us know, I bet we could get a group order in!

Ok, I will send them an email asking about extra mags and in about a month or so I will see about doing a large group buy; it will not be limited to only the mp5k and mags though I plan on including the whole store.

Hold off a bit on this.  It was acting up tonight at CQBAZ.  It's MAY not be the gun's fault but until I am certain, I would hold off.
