Glock GBBs no longer imported?
« on: July 08, 2010, 10:12:08 AM »
So, I've done a bit of looking around, and nobody that I'm aware of stocks any Glock GBBs. I've been out of the sport for a good long while, but my cousins and I are receiving some Glocks as gifts, and we are thinking of picking up some GBBs to practice with. However, I can't seem to find any in stock anywhere stateside, and the only other place I've found them over seas is at WGC Shop. I'd really rather not pay a customs duty fee, since I've done that once already, and it tacked on a good $35-40 to the cost of the pistol.

So, am I just not looking in the right places, or has Glock taken action against these being imported?

From what I've herd it might be that airsoft glocks are only available to Law Enforcement only. I might be completely wrong, but thats what I herd.

A lot of places have them overseas. Uncompany puts putty on the trades so it will get through customs and when you get it it peels right off.

just to settle the question, Ron's glock at GB is a KJW. I've asked him before, it says on the sticker, and also on the grip :)

To answer your question, Yes.
Glock got a stick up their butts and will not allow anyone to import any glocks for stateside. And you can't even make a knock off since it was a Tradedress not a trademark thing. Hope fully Cybergun or Umarex will be able to get Glock to budge. But , It is highly unlikely.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

Trades are a non-issue with me. They'd be "cool" to have, but I'm not looking for cool, really. Rather, I'm looking for a quality GBB I can use for practice that will last me a long time. I've got experience with KSC/KWA from back in the day, so I trust them, though TM and a few others makes great GBB's as well.

Regarding the import issue. If I were to order one and it got caught by Customs, I'm assuming they'd confiscate it and I'd just be out the money I spent on it, yes? I'm not sure that's a risk I want to take, if that's what'll happen.

ETA: I'm also looking for a G19, not a 17. Significant size difference there, and I'm trying to maintain the same feel I'd have when using my actual G19. I appreciate the heads up, though!

about 2 years ago glock and several other company's started bring airsoft company's to court for copy right infringement. the reason being is these company's had unique design and they did not want sales of there designs with ought revenue
