It's a TM.  It's impossible to hear anything bad about them.

If you upgrade it be sure to get a tightbore.

That would be one of the first things to do because of the shortened barrel.
Title:
Post by: <> First Sergeant & on January 25, 2007, 08:55:34 PM
Could you fit the ICS QD (short) silencer on it?
Title:
Post by: chainsaw on January 25, 2007, 08:56:28 PM
not without an m4 flash hider.
Title:
Post by: <> First Sergeant & on January 25, 2007, 08:58:46 PM
Ok, could you put an M4 flash hider on it then? Because i want a smaller silencer do you know of any?

Does anyone know the range on a SOC 16?
Title:
Post by: pilz on January 25, 2007, 09:18:00 PM
I have shot nosmo's and it shot a little less than my CQB with a m120 and a m4 tightbore. Which is good since the gun is stock, and mine was upgraded.
Title:
Post by: <> First Sergeant & on January 25, 2007, 09:25:35 PM
Ok because the one i will prob buy has a 120 in it and its a G&G.
Title:
Post by: chainsaw on January 25, 2007, 09:31:50 PM
G&G's suck ass. tms all the way better shoot much further due to tms great hopup

I have a friend that bought a madbull tightbore for his HK 416 and he says its better than any stock hop up? have you heard of an upgraded hop up for the SOC 16?

Without offense, what you just said doesn't make real sense. Like, a tightbore will augment the effects of your hopup, but they're two different things. There is no upgraded hopup for the G&G SOC16 but you could put a different bucking in it.

Post by: <> First Sergeant & on January 25, 2007, 09:42:33 PM
Ok thanks.  So you don't really care for the G&G?
Title:
Post by: Vince on January 25, 2007, 09:44:24 PM
No, they suck, I would rather not play airsoft than have to use a G&G M14 again. Both of the ones I owned were dogs.
Title:
Post by: <> First Sergeant & on January 25, 2007, 09:45:51 PM
What made them so bad?
Title:
Post by: Vince on January 25, 2007, 09:49:45 PM
Laundry list of problems.

Just don't buy one. Really, do you not have like, $30 lying around to get the better TM version?
Title:
Post by: <> First Sergeant & on January 25, 2007, 09:51:16 PM
No someone on here was going to sell me theirs with 2 hicaps, sight ang an M120 for $350 but im considering the new TM SOC16 also.
Title:
Post by: Vince on January 25, 2007, 09:53:32 PM
It'll need new gears, the piston will shit the bed later on in life, prepare for the trigger to be crunchy, sometimes mushy, don't count on being able to get any decent standard mags, don't get bothered when it tears your cutoff lever up kicking down from full auto to semi, et cetera.

I know some about M14s in airsoft and I really like the TM one I have. It's the nicest gun I've ever owned.
Title:
Post by: <> First Sergeant & on January 25, 2007, 09:56:00 PM
Damn, maybe after that i will buy the TM.  Are the King Arms 110rd. mags any good?
Title:
Post by: chainsaw on January 25, 2007, 09:58:41 PM
I love my tm m14.
Title:
Post by: <> First Sergeant & on January 25, 2007, 10:02:58 PM
My friend has one with a Guarder 110 and its right near 400fps.  I was prob going to buy the SOC16.  Hopefully it will preform the same as the M14.
Title:
Post by: Vince on January 25, 2007, 10:12:38 PM
I have a couple King Arms and they've seemed OK so far.
Title:
Post by: <> First Sergeant & on January 25, 2007, 10:14:45 PM
Ok because redwolfairsoft.com has a 10-pack 110rd. for $55
Title:
Post by: Vince on January 25, 2007, 10:16:29 PM
Those are plastic, in case you didn't know.
Title:
Post by: <> First Sergeant & on January 25, 2007, 10:18:10 PM
Are they durable though because i have the M4 MAG mags and they are pretty durable so far
Title:
Post by: Vince on January 25, 2007, 10:19:16 PM

Title:
Post by: <> First Sergeant & on January 25, 2007, 10:20:42 PM

Post by: chainsaw on January 25, 2007, 10:29:53 PM
Thats awesome vince..... where did you find them?
Title:
Post by: <> First Sergeant & on January 25, 2007, 10:30:46 PM
Where did you buy them from and do they make one with more rounds that is metal also?
Title:
Post by: Vince on January 25, 2007, 10:31:23 PM
Redwolf...Deepfire makes a 68 round mag for $7.35, I have some of those too, and they aren't bad either. I honestly can't tell the different between Deepfire @ $7, King Arms @ $12 and Tokyo Marui @ $22 except for the TMs have the nicest, strongest springs and are effected by detritus the least.

G&P makes a midcap. I have one, if you wanna buy one, like, $10? Never been used. Has an X in sharpie on the bottom, but you can't tell unless you're looking.

Right now I'm using marui standards and a g&p midcap.  both perform great.

I decided to go with only marui mags only because i like to keep it as milsim...ish as possible.

and personally, I like the fact that they are metal, that's worth the extra cash for me.

Im with vince for an m14 marui makes the best by far.  Mine is the most accurate airsoft rifle i have ever shot. im pretty sure some kids here can agree with the (pillz)

Marui.  Their M14s are the sh*t.

Also, you may want to look at the new CA M14s coming out.  No release date (possibly summer or fall I), but if they're in keeping with the quality of their recent releases, they should kick ass.

Post by: Vince on January 26, 2007, 12:59:53 AM
It's my opinion of the CA M14 Scout that the TM is already full metal, so, why bother with the CA? It'll be a copy of the TM, I think...but everything's already done right with this gun. Who knows, though.

Insofar as TM vs CA, I think TM wins pretty much every time. TM S-System vs CQB-R, based solely on performance, I pick S-System. CQB-R wins because you can hold a huge battery, it's metal, and it doesn't have a goddamn hideous SIR on it, even though the S-System has the nicer hop-up.
