Title: got a classic army
Post by: 1bad7 on January 20, 2006, 02:57:06 AM: Hey whatsup guys. Just got my Classic Army A15A4 SPC the other day and love it so far. Does anyone else have one (i'm sure plenty)? The reason I ask is that I'm looking to do some internal upgrades and would like to hear some insight on the best route to go. What spring, piston, gears? Anything you guys could contribute will be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time

I'm sure some kids will share their "knowledge," but AEG upgrades are best done with the right parts and knowledge. Would you take advice about fixing your bird from a truck driver? Didn't think so!

Listen to the guys that have CA guns already. They know what works for that AEG. Just because a certain upgrade worked on a TM or ICS doesn't mean it will work on a CA

Hey Christian, I would appreciate the pointing in the right direction about the upgrades as well.. I know CA's are a bit touchy and dont wanna fukkitup.

Post by: -MAD- SARGE on January 20, 2006, 01:37:23 PM: The best thing about a CA is that there isnt too much more that you need to do. They are already pre-upgraded compared to the standard AEG. All I had done to mine and it is still working great after about 2 years is these things. Systema Silent piston head set, M120 spring, removed that ugly CA gear grease and put a good quality grease on, and a tightbore barrel. All run with a 20 amp discharge rate 9.6v 1700mah battery. That's all I needed to do to my CA M4 to get it where I wanted it, shoots .20s about 375-385fps. Scott (Taz) did my upgrade.

In short, all you need to upgrade on a CA is the spring. Since all the other parts are reinforced and perfectly fine, I'd wait until they break to replace them with better parts.

It would be Nice to see if that is true. My CA M15A4 CQB just came in the end of last week.

Yeah, I'm not sure myself. I don't really feel like opening up my gearbox to find out, though. :P
