tm has the best quality, durability, and reliability.
ics and ca metal bodies do nothing but weigh you down.
they look cool but in the end its just a hassle.

Metal bodies are alot better than plastic. Plastic breakes, and when you drop your plastic gun, it will breake. Metal bodies add to realism and are far more reliable. Airsoft is about relism and if a gun that weights 4 pounds is too much for you, well then your on your own. My gun weights about 8 pounds and I have no problem, not to mention gear. BAck to the topic...

As far as I know, there is not an M14 made with a metal body, as the real ones don't have it.  And neither ICS or CA make an M14.

I would absolutley 100% recommend a Marui M14 OD.  I've had mine for  a month or two now, and friggin love it.  You'll be amazed at the range and accuracy stock, even if the fps is only around 300 (haven't chronoed mine yet, but they're estimated at roughly 300 fps stock).  It is also extremely solid, well built, and has a great feel for it.  Word of warning though, it is heavier and longer than most AEGs.  I was surprised that after playing for a while with it, my arms started getting a bit tired.  Nothing serious, but now when I use my M4 it feels really light in my hands.

As far as the metal vs plastic debate; metal is more realistic, plastic is nice if you're gonna be running around all day.  Realism is fine and dandy, but come on, we're shooting little plastic bbs at each other.  My M4 is a plastic body, and I don't mind it at all.  I very well may get a metal body for it, but I'm not planning on it right now.

Well, i think i have made my decision! I know im getting a Tokyo Marui M14 from all the great things I have heard about it. I think though, i am going to get the wood body just because i want the more authentic vietnam look. Thanks a lot for all the great advice everyone :).

Wood body? Throw in a nice sling in there so your arms don't fall off.

I never knew that three inches was the minimum length for a handgun barrel. I guess all of the anti-gun politicians wont be able to register their penises.

Imitation wood stock.

I have no first hand experience with the wood colored stock, but I've heard frequently that the material isn't of the most realistic look or feel.

I also remembered to refer you to airsoftextreme.com, it's where I bought my M14 from and they had a good price and very fast shipping.  And I got it with almost all trademarks intact (the word 'Springfield' was very carefully removed from the box).

AEX also has a very good review about the M14, make sure to read it if you haven't done so already.

Why don't you ask people like Gix (read his post) he's owned them all.  I'm sure his opinion must count for something.
