AEP question
« on: March 18, 2006, 03:00:06 AM »
Are AEPs just as good as a GBB, or better? I looked at a TM G18C AEP, and starting thinking about it.

Well you won't get the obvious feel of a GBB, it won't have the same feel. The Marui AEPs have good range though, at least that's what I hear from the guys back in Hawaii.

What about the effieciency?  Is the fps almost the same as GBB?  I'm also curious on how realistic they are.  The battery goes in the handle, right?  So does the mag?  Just curious....

They're an expensive habit to acquire. The FPS is shitty out of the box, so it has to be upgraded with a new spring. Then, you gotta get new gears, a new cylinder head, a new cylinder, and all kinds of other stuff. They're very quiet, and even more so with a suppressor, but still, I don't think they're advanced enough to be skirmish worthy. The battery goes where the normaly recoil assembly would go.

Vince pretty much nailed it down, I would only use them against springers or as a backyard plinker.

Red Wolf Airsoft has some nice pics of them

i've heard they are really accurate for about 120 feet. i thought that was pretty impressive. but yea, they sound like garbage, just dont get one. you need to start worrying about making your ak better.
