CA 249 Para Gearbox and Firing issues
« on: March 11, 2010, 11:47:17 PM »
Ok,

I bought my CA M249 used offline. The gun immediatley had issues when I went to test fire it. Did not fire and was whiring loudly with no sound of the gears really engaging. I opened it up and discovered that the piston had been stripped at the teeth. So I replaced it with a CA reinforced Piston w/ metal teeth plus I upgraded the piston head with an Area 1000 aluminum piston head by Systema. Once I got the gearbox back together ensuring all gears and shims where in thiet respective places, I replaced the gearbox back in the gun. Now the gearbox engages aNd all parts move and function..but it still won't feed or fire the rounds. I then discoverd that the bucking on the tightbore was broken at the tip. Even though the end of the bucking is gone, shouldn't it at least fire? Well that where I am at. Any suggestions?

Is the nozzle reciprocating?

It looked like it was in before I put the gearbox back in the shell of the gun. But that is a very good point. I hadnt thought about that. If it is not, did I do something wrong in the reasembly of the gearbox? How do i fix it?

Thanks,

Ok,

I checked into nozzle inquiry. It seems that it is reciprocating yes. However, it does seem to be stopping just short of "completely" retracting. This might be the reason why the rounds are not feeding. Could it be going to fast as well? I am using a 9.6v 4000mAh battery. I am not completely schooled on battery selection and usage so any insight to how the math works would be great.
