General Airsoft Discussion / Where to get some good anti-fog spray
« on: August 17, 2004, 06:39:01 PM »
Can anyone please tell me where is a good place to go pick up some quality anti-fog spray? I have looked at some local store web pages (sports authority, frys, big5) and havent seen any. I have also looked online and found about 3 or 4 kinds however most of them are 6-8 bucks (no problem) not including the 6-8 bucks for shipping.

So if anyone could point me in the right direction i would be greatful since i dont want to pay 20$ for a 4oz bottle.

General Off-Topic Discussion / Crackers declare cyberwar on USA
« on: May 13, 2004, 06:01:21 PM »
Crackers declare cyberwar on USA

Famous Brazilian newspapers have been informed that a new hacking group composed of worldwide individuals (from Brazil, China, Hong Kong and Russia) has declared cyberwar on the United States of America.

Its name is Hackers Against America (HAA) and their web site is hosted on a Russian server. According to what is written on the main page, they plan to integrate new members and launch attacks against computers based in the US (cracking some of them but also use worms, viruses) in order to steal private documents. Some samples of documents and codes are available on the web site, although they don't seem to be secret at all and possible to find by using search engines.

Looks like attackin the US is the new trend of people living out side the states (and some that arnt outside.)

General Off-Topic Discussion / New immigration proposal
« on: January 21, 2004, 03:25:21 AM »
**** DISCLAMER ****
Please DO NOT take any offense to this topic. The views here are opinions of a few people and shouldn’t be seen as anything more. Sorry if you feel any part of this is racist, sexist or in anyway out right offends you. Feel free to form what ever opinion on this matter you wish but keep it civil and on topic. This disclaimer is to cover all my bases before someone comes on and blast me for being "insensitive" or politically incorrect. We understand that we do not have full working knowledge of the legal system and all laws / policies in place or working their way through the system. This is merely some ideas that where tossed around and we would like some feedback.
**** DISCLAMER ****

Sorry but it’s a sensitive topic for some. Now on to the show.

Ok a friend of mine and I where talking about this bill that President Bush is proposing to get passed that will allow illegal aliens to get a green card for 3 year and possibly gain citizen ship after that. Basically open the boarders between the US and Mexico.

The topic at hand:
We where basically trying to figure out a better way to go about letting the boarders be opened for people of Mexico into the US. This idea is very broad that we came up with and doesn’t single anyone out. Basically what I'm trying to do here is get some feedback on what you think of this idea and possibly what you think are some pros and cons to a policy such as the one I will get to in a second.

Basic policy:
When anyone from out side the state enters the US they get finger printed, identified, checked in, photographed, DNA, etc. to what ever extend seams reasonable for good identification. They are made a record and they are some what monitored from then on for X amount of years or until proven they can contribute to society and not steal from the US. This will hopefully help weed out the people that cross any board only to slowly corrupt the US from the inside out. When this Identified person comes across any board into the US they are tracked when they mess up and are involved in a crime of any kind they are deported back to their home country and denied re-entry into the US. This can very as this harsh of punishment isn’t likely to pass in the US because most people in my opinion are not too bright. If the person come across the boarder and do contribute to the US they will be given citizenship and allowed to live here and continue their life as a US citizen with out being monitored. This also can be easily adapted to include any group of people. This policy would be for EVERYONE entering the US. There could be a strike system developed for it or be only used on anything that is a felony. Some exceptions can later be defined and added to this. ((There would be some ups and downs to trying to go through and do legal citizens and no doubt some legal battles over this. However there can later be a policy that would add deportation of people based on crimes but that is a different topic and policy all together.))

The people that are already in this country that are still illegal that come forward will be given documents on this subject so they will know the punishments if this policy isn’t followed. They would then be Identified and monitored like the rest of the people entering the state.

Our thoughts on this:
We basically think that any person regardless of race, religion, sex, age* or background that is entering the US shouldn’t be exempt to this policy because anyone that doesn’t help the country out shouldn’t be allowed to live here as a citizen. This would help against those who wish to cause harm to the US population such as terrorism, theft, murders.

-side note-
+ I (meushi) also think they should get a little harsher on the major crimes.. It’s sad to see people get off on murder charges because they have millions of dollars. Your conviction should have nothing to do with how much money you have in your bank account.

+ We also think INS should get better funding for boarder patrols. That why they have the resources to watch after those who do comply and to possibly go after those who don’t come forward. Not really a "man hunt" but at least be on the look out for illegal aliens.

+ From what we understand under Bush's policy when they come over to the US they would be provided medical insurance, some other basic things to get started in the US so they aren’t coming over jobless, homeless and otherwise helpless to provide for themselves. We fill that they should have to provide for themselves so our tax dollars go to a better source. IE: nation defense, educations and medical programs to name a few.

The object of the game is to guess what other people are drawing before other people do and when its your turn get as many people to guess your word (with out using letters) as possable. Its some what fun and is a great way to pass time if your bored at work or waiting for something to downlaod or what ever.

General Off-Topic Discussion / some useful advice
« on: November 02, 2003, 05:33:00 AM »
Simple and effective anti-fogging for lenses can be had by applying liquid soap to lenses (no water), then polishing it off with a cloth. Lasts all day.

They say that leaky gas gun magazine seals can be fixed by soaking them in 100% pure silicone oil for a day or so. If you are desparate, soak them instead in radiator stop-leak fluid or something similar - this will cause the seals to swell. Wipe them off and try it. Consider using some teflon tape as well (white film-like tape used to seal threads on compressed gas fittings). To prevent your seals from going bad, keep them lubed lightly and always store your magazines with a shot or two's worth of gas in them (do not store your GBB magazines empty).

They say that fat-style Bic Round Stic pen is opaque white, is a circular tube in and out, and has a cylinder-ish flat lid. Their internal diameter is about 6.5 mm. Makes a great tube that Airsoft bb's flow freely in. [ed: Thanks to reideast@hotmail.com for this fortune]

It's said that some creative types use a shotgun sling with built-in shell pouches and insert their battery cells into the shell pouches, running a wire up the sling and to a connector on the gun.

Stretching a spring out will increase it's power for only a short while - then the spring rapidly dies.

Someone you despise has thought about you while touching themselves.

General Airsoft Discussion / In need of an opinion
« on: October 21, 2003, 05:37:26 AM »
Ok last night at work i was thinking of airsoft and some stuff on the forums. I keep seeing people wanting to use someone elses AEG or other airsoft gun but seeing how most people only have 1 or dont want to lend out thier extra AEGs in fear that they will be broken.

This is where my idea comes in. What if i where to buy a second AEG (mp5 or something around 200$ - 250$) for the soul reason to rent it out to people at non-AA games. Seeing how you can get a decent stock AEG for around 200 - 250. I could rent them out for a price say.. 50$ for an event until its paided off then drop that price to 20$ or something like it.

My questions are:
1) How much would you pay to use a stock gun for a day?
2) How much for a upgraded gun
3) do you think this is a "good" idea

"good" meaning it will work. I understand i stand to take a great risk in the begining till the guns are paided off but that is something for me to worry about and work out. Which i already have that part planned out.

General Airsoft Discussion / Airsoft is staring to get around
« on: October 20, 2003, 08:29:50 AM »
I was down at Frys Electronics yesterday picking up a DVD burner and i walked down a random isle. I was walking along and something cought my eye. A toy gun at first glance so i walked a little further and another one catchs my eye. This time is a mini m16 i think. Much to my amazement they where selling airsoft springers / minis. Yes i know you would never goto Frys to pick up you next AEG but i think that says something for the growth of airsoft. Now if this is a good thing or bad is kinda up in the air but i just had to stop and laugh when i saw that.
