Metal Mesh Mask / Goggles Cross Compatibility.
« on: September 23, 2013, 09:30:08 AM »
I've seen many players have metal mesh masks and goggles on in games with no gaps between the goggles and the lower mask to let skin show.
What combinations of goggles and metal mesh mask do you guys use?

These are what I use, the goggles I actually picked up at S9 Airsoft in Phoenix.  No more fogging problems and very comfortable, I even use the goggles at night.

Word to the wise: Like most things in airsoft, mesh quality varies greatly. I've seen mesh goggles that have extremely wide gaps. Then again, there's one's that have only .5mm holes in the mesh. Still, cheap BBs and Bio BBs are known to shatter on impact with hard surfaces. If there are large gaps, the shards might get through and damage your eyes. Fogging doesn't seem like that big of a problem when you're wearing an eye patch. Also, all the commercial fields and arenas in the Valley require full seal eye pro and the indoor areas require full face coverage (Fightertown requires full face pro for those >18). Food for though.

On the OP's original question, it very much depends. I like Flakjaks for outdoor play. For indoors, I switch between a pair of Voodoo Tactical goggles and some old goggles I'm not even sure have a manufacturers name on them. All have taken direct hits to the lens and haven't failed. I dislike the mesh masks as my poor excuse for a beard tends to get pulled in all sorts of directions and I haven't had a mask that contours to my face well. The Hakkotsu Iron Face mask was extremely comfortable, but muffles any attempt to speak.

P.S. For those who like to wear no lower: http://www.dentalstraighttalk.com/topic.asp?ProductCatID=20

I meant the gap between goggle and mask.
