Who needs a special-sized lipo?
« on: February 15, 2010, 04:00:46 PM »
Hey guys, I'm talking with Mike at cheapbatterypacks... and he's looking for input on what form factors people are looking for high quality lipo's in.

So far, I've been able to tell him that nunchucks and stick types are the ones that are hard to find nice quality lipos with 30-40amp or higher outputs, and 2000mAh or better to make sure everybody has a nice battery life. Those are what I've been looking for for a long time at least.

So, is there a demand for lipos in other sizes that you can't find them in?

I know that large battery users have nearly unlimited options, but I've only found the 12C lipos and LiFe packs for stick types and crane batteries... with like 1300mAh, which turns into being less power output than a good nimh 9.6v... completely defeating the purpose of the upgrade.

Sorry if I sound stupid... what's the size profile of a buffer tube lipo?

He said he ordered some 2200mAh 30C Nunchucks for crane stocks, and is working on getting high discharge sticks. So they're definitely listening to suggestions.

well, no, the idea would be they would be as short as possible - the buffer tube isn't all usable space and you want the stock to be able to collapse down as far as possible
