Hey guys. So I got the go ahead to build a M2 Bradley Functioning replica out of wood and other materials for my construction class for use in airsoft and I need help finding cheap parts (New or used. as long as theyre cheap) to build it. Like, I need tank tracks engines and maybe like an aircannon among other things.

Related, but not related. I was in a Scout BFV platoon for 2 years!  (1st infantry Brigade, 2/34 Armor) Armor Cav.
Glad I got sent to sniper training, I was tired of that tin can! I lost partial hearing from that thing!

I honestly don't know where to find tank parts... you might have SWAT at your door if you were building something with those.

I think this would be awesome to build and use at big games. No matter what THIS person says. There is a video on YouTube that shows an m1 some guy built. Go for it!

Oh and also a ATv base is a great way to start. That way  you just make an outside frame for it and remove the plastic on the Atv and replace with the frame.

Make one of these!!!!

Actually XDD we are lol. but in order to make them (yes we realize that in order to make both the stryker and the M2 we would need alot of materials) we need to know where we can get some proper sized tires and tracks, engines to get them moving, motors and what nots for realism (like for the rear hatch)and some other stuff. so donations would help. but more importantly what we need is some schematics. like if anyone can provide a site with schematics with the measurements so that we can build it 1:1 scale.

And my friend also wanted to ask you guys if youd rather see an M2 Bradley or the Stryker? cus worst case scenario our Construction teacher will only give us enough time and wed have only materials for one.

To make one to that size, you must have a very powerful engine. If made to scale even with plywood it would still weigh close to a ton, with frame and outsides and engine. On top of that you will have to add the weight of 6-9 people. Unless you want to go the speed of smell you will need power. You best option, go to a police auction and pick up a inexpensive car, v6 Honda or some thing. Then strip the shit out of it, making it two rear wheel drive with 2 wheel front steering. Next make a four middle tires nonpowered.

Its possible to complete this project for under 2000$. But lots of math and basic motor skills will be needed. I have made a similar project with my father out of a vw bug, after adding people and larger wheels, became a neat little paintball tank. Exceleration was a super disappointment, but still inexpensive project.

Ok............

I'll chime in here.

First, for blueprints the best thing to do is buy a plastic model like a 1:32 scale, you know the type you have to glue together, don't glue it together and you can get all sorts of measurements (just scale them up), see how it is built and put together, lots of valuable information.

If you want to make it full scale, like it says above, use a doner vehicle and fake tracks.

I made a 2/5 scaled M1 Abrams. It took me over a year and over $3000. It runs on tracks and is not very usable out in the field. Very high maintenance. Most "Tank parts" I had to make myself. The tacks are homemade from conveyor belting.

I would suggest you check out  http://www.scaledtanks.com/news.php

If you really want to build a tracked vehicle they can help you do it.
