As you can see, we've made some major upgrades and changes to the forums. The new forums can be found here, and the "old" forums will soon be shut down, so please use the new ones as of now:
http://www.airsoftarizona.com/forumbb/Why the change? The old AA forums run on the "snitz" software, but I have *heavily* modified it. The back-end was simply an Access DB and it often buckled under the number of hits and visits received on this site.
I have decided to move everything to a new format, which you see here. Rather than keep asp pages and snitz forums, I moved AA to php pages and to PHPBB-based forums. The reason I didn't do this MUCH earlier was simply: compatability. We have a LOT of data in the old forums that I just hated to lose (and I'm sure you would too), so I decided to wait until I was able to find a way to migrate the data to a new forum. Well, it wasn't easy, but I did it. Topics, forums, replies, user accounts, etc (over 60,000 records) - all moved from an Access 2000 Database to a MySQL4 database on a completely different DB structure.
Anyway, more to the point:
1 - I will leave these "old" forums up for another week or so, but ANYTHING posted in the "old" forums (these) will NOT make it to the new ones, so I suggest that you do not bother posting in the old forums. Please use the new ones now. No new users can register in the old forums anymore, so I am simply leaving up for nostalgia and so users who don't log in often can have a chance to save any PM's they may want or need.

Passwords were encrypted in the Access DB (as they are in the new one as well), so they didn't survive the data migration, though user accounts & data did. As such, you will have to reset your password on the new forums by going here:

and filling in your username and email address. A new password will be emailed to you at the email address you had on your forum account as of December 17th, 2004 @ 11AM. Try that FIRST. If it doesn't work for you, or if you don't have access to your old email address for some reason, email me - contact@airsoftarizona.com (or PM an Admin or Moderator) with as much info as possible - links where you got the error, what you were doing when it happened and your OS/Browser.
6 - Moderators remain the same on the new forums: Paco, Raith, Harley, Airsofter1, TheRev and KamikazeSM.
Some forum changes/improvements include:
- New military ranks (post-counts kept)
- New users can't create topics until they have reached 10 posts
- New team forum abilities (email me if you want one set up)
- MANY more!
Well, it's late (er - EARLY!) and I am dead from working on the changes, so hopefully it'll go well. I know we are all used-to the current forums, but in time, we'll get used to the new ones. They are better and will sustain our growth MUCH better. We lose a few nice features, but we gain much more.
