Saying Hi From Prescott
« on: May 05, 2015, 04:48:06 AM »
Hey just  thought i'd say hi,just stumbled upon the site, I live up in prescott have about 13acres in the mountains i get to run around play milsim ect ect. Never played in any matches or anything but i've got about 20+guns so i've just been playing with whoever comes over and is willing to get shot and have an opportunity to shoot back.lol Mostly on the site for what info i can get & to buy/sell . I play in a large area so i like/look for High Fps (i know it's not the only factor) guns for the most part and am still trying to build a 600+ fps AEG that doesn't have to have a silly tank attached.(other wise i'd have already gone polar*) ..Well anyways Hello and if ya ever up north an wanna play gimme a holla. -Justin

Why are you trying to build an AEG that shoots 600+ fps? Even a DMR or sniper rifle doesn't need that kind of power...

Because i would like one....i've been hit by my own "built" m4 at 100ft with 450fps and i felt it but it wasn't anything to write home about..i would like a gun with a decent rof but has the ability at longer distances to still be felt. i understand fps only plays a part in achieving that, generally speaking all things the same the higher fps will go a lil farther an if it doesn't it will still have a greater impact on the target then it will with less fps...i've got an Aps m50 with the high fps shells that im seeing 640-710fps with which is cool an all but now i want an aeg which can come close...Im one of those guys..my g37 didn't need twin turbo's it was quick enough...nor did it need a stroker kit or did it need to have 600+whp..But it does and i Love it..Thats Just me.

600+ fps is absolutely ridiculous and completely unsafe. You won't be allowed to play with a weapon that hot at any milsim game or pay-to-play field that I am aware of. Some places may let you run a sniper that hot with bolt-action only and a 150-200ft minimum engagement distance, but even that's iffy. You absolutely do not need more than 400 to 415 fps with .20g rounds for any weapon. I have weapons with flat hops shooting 365fps and I can reach out well over 200 feet.

Building an AEG with as much power as you are implying is categorically unsafe and frankly I wouldn't risk my health playing with someone who thinks that's a good idea. Not to mention player skill is exponentially more important than weapon quality...

I think Ravensquad makes a very good point. Nobody wants to get hit by a 600+ FPS gun. I bet your property is very beautiful up there in Prescott. However, you may be playing on your 13 acres by yourself for a while with "hot" guns like that.  :-[
