Sounds allot like the Classic Army Guns. You can always tell the difference in the serial numbers. I am very eager to how your gun perform later this month. I just hope I am not on the other side.  I hope that all problems are fixed, and hope it to be a Superior gun. As far as the Marui goes I think it will be awhile before we see its full potential. They are coming into the US in limited numbers, and they still lack are power hungry needs. Curious when you did the mods to the G&G, did you change the gears, or was there a need too? Or is it like the marui, in where it will be sometime before more powerfull gears are released?

No work on the gears required. From what I saw (and I didn't try to mess with them too much) they looked stout and robust (similar to CA gears). I just changed the piston head, spring and spring guide. I've shot about two mags thru the gun to verify function (about 900 rds). The barrel change was a different story. At the time, there was no Prometheus barrel being made that was specific to the G&G M14 so I picked up the longest one I could find (about 600 something mm). I had to regrind the hop slot because the stock slot was set about 1.5mm too far foreward. the new hop bucking from AE fit nicely even though I butchered the slot. After reinstalling the hop unit and putting the barrel back in I discovered that the barrel was still about 6mm too short. I took a dremel and ran a groove around the inner barrel and fit a small o-ring to act as a center for the inner barrel in the outer barrel. I greased it up real slick and ran it back through the outer barrel and it seems to work fine. The hop also works real well as it seems to have more surface area to act on the bb (so I don't have to crank it in just to get some hop). It was a task needless to say. So, that being said, I think it will still be some time before G&G has more stuff out that can upgrade the gun.
