FN FiveseveN
« on: January 22, 2009, 12:23:34 PM »
I am thinking about getting an FN FiveseveN, any feedback or info would be helpful. I have fired one myself and can say I like the almost no recoil and great accuracy.

I\'ve touched that gun with my hand which had touched my penis. I hope you did not touch your mouth after touching that gun. That would mean your had put part of my penis in your mouth.

Nil8r has one. I haven't ever heard him complain. The only complaint I'd have is.. well, two.

The rounds are shit expensive and they're not really to carry, you don't need those kinds of rounds and they'd probably go in and out of the target; anti-productive, sir.

But the guns light, holds 20 rds, has almost no muzzle flip, easy to use, it's really fun to shoot.

5.7x28mm doesn't seem to be any more expensive than most .223.  Yeah, its not as inexpensive as 9mm or even .40, but its not prohibitive, I think.

I've put thousands or rounds through mine, no problems.  I think I use mine more than Ron uses his, although he's had his longer.  Could be completely wrong though.  They make hollow points if you are wanting to carry it.  Rounds are on the higher end of pistol rounds price wise, but they are cheaper than .223.

Is the Ammo hard to find? Isn't it only made by FN? Like would places like Cabeles and walmart have them?

Dont they also make an AP round for it as well?

Ammo is only made by FN (or at least branded by FN, I think Fiocchi makes the SS197).  To the best of my knowledge Cabela's does NOT carry 5.7x28mm.  Sportsman's Warehouse normally carries both SS195LF and SS197SR, but given the ammo shortage, the one by me was out earlier this week.  I have been told BPS usually carries 5.7x28mm but I have not personally checked.  If you are looking to buy bulk, ammoman.com currently has SS192 for $350/500rds, $600/1000rds, or $1,100 for/2000rd can.

back in the day (5 months ago... the good old days) I used to see 5.7x28mm at Sportsman's Warehouse and it wasn't anymore expensive than decent .45 rounds (about $23 for a box of 50).
FN was running a promo for awhile too if you bought a FiveSeven or PS90 you'd get a coupon for 200 rounds of ammo for free.

They also run a similar promotion at the ShotShow.

Last time I bought 5.7x28mm, it was $18.95 for box of 50 at Sportsman's Warehouse.  Admittedly, that was quite a while ago though.
