And Vince, I am asking because I know how many people on this forum carry. To be honest I think I would get a better answer here then if I went to a gun store or even a strictly gun forum.

I like when people say 'to be honest'. It makes me feel like they are normally dishonest and this unabated honesty is a step out of their comfort zone.

I think if you think you're going to get good gun advice from this forum, and you're getting answers that include firearms that shoot a 5.7mm round for personal defense, you're getting what you deserve.

What happens when a shot you fire from your 5.7mm handgun overpenetrates and kills somebody else?

You are such a bastion of happiness and positivity Vince. Really I think that overpenetration is just as likely with a JHP .45 or 9mm as it is with the Five Seven shooting anything BUT the military/LE only armor piercing rounds. Those are a totally different subject altogether.

In my honest opinion the actual round itself matters more for (over)penetration then the caliber. Also I want to point out that having a weapon that can penetrate cover is not a bad idea at all. How many of us hike, camp, off road and the like. What happens if you have to take a shot at someone taking cover behind something like a car engine? Penetration does have a place in considering weapon and the round you will be carrying.

I've been having a problem with my Xbox360 lately. It wont read games. It will read and play DVDs but it wont read games. Is there anyone out there who can fix this or can teach to fix or something??

No such thing as a stupid question when it comes to troubleshooting over the phone/forum

Have you connected to xbox live recently by any chance?

Also try changing your xbox's position from horizantal to vertical or vice versa

I am a fan of the FN Five Seven but to be honest I think it is along the lines of the beretta 92, a military weapon that has a lot of military features I don't really need. I don't need the caliber (I prefer 9mm due to standing ammo stocks) and to be honest I don't find it all that comfortable to handle.

Thanks for the response, it should be me +2-3. Unknown team so far.

Do you guys do pricing discounts for active duty?

Also what are the restrictions on LMG type weapons?

ever consider searching first? I know there has been a lot of threads about this.

Since you are in Yuma I would check any surplus stores. There should be one or two with the massive base in the area. The other option is to hit up the salvation army for some BDUs. They should have them, I know the Navy has been giving their cammies away to the homeless recently so I would be surprised if a pair or two didn't make it's way to the salvation army.

Cheaperthandirt.com is always an option also.

Limits on magazines? Also any restrictions on weapons per team? Do you want the PRA running AKs Mexican Army ARs etc?

Thanks!

Hey thanks for the responses you guys, and while I shake my head at you Glock shooters out there I do appreciate your input.

Satalite also an interesting note in regards to a holster making your gun "concealed", AZ law says that having your gun tucked into your waistband is open carry, as long as the grip can be seen.

TheBoy998 I have an issue with carrying in condition 1 for a lot of weapons, because of the safety problems inherent. I don't like leaving a hammer cocked, because even though I know it is physically impossible (or more rather improbable) for something to break causing your hammer to fall forward, hitting your firing pin etc. I know rationally it won't happen, but if I can avoid it I am going to. That said I am not sure if carrying with the hammer down is any better either. Really that all depends on the gun, in a 1911 I won't carry hammer down, in a M9 due to the safeties I won't carry locked and cocked.

I am stationed in CA right now so I am not in a big hurry to start carrying anyway. I am curious on your Beretta, do you carry condition 1? (round in chamber, safety on, hammer down, magazine inserted) or do you carry condition 3? (chamber empty, safety on, magazine inserted) I don't dislike the m9, it's what I qualify on, but it isn't my favorite at all, and I also think that open carry puts yourself in some bad places politically.

Thanks for your opinion man!

I don't mean this as a flame, but I'm willing to bet that near all Phoenix/Tuscon area members of this board are not willing to drive 6+ hours and pay a $25 entrance fee to compete in an airsoft shooting competition, where the highest prize possible is a $100 gift card.  But I don't blame you guys for advertising to us.

Yuma is only a 2 hour drive from SD (I have made it quite a few times) so you can't blame him for trying. Also remember, there is a few of us in Ca that are on AA for various reasons.

That being said IDPA style shooting should be done with the real thing not airsoft guns, just out of preference.

I am currently looking at picking up a handgun in celebration of AZ's unlicensed concealed carry law that just got passed. I am looking for something that is easily concealed, along the lines of the Ruger LCP, but I am a fan of a full sized handgun for hip carry during hiking camping and the like.

Right now I am considering

1) Springfield Armory 1911 (full sized single stack with fixed sights)
2) Ruger LCP just for a pocket carry small handgun
3) FN Hi Power because I like the gun caliber over the 1911 while having similar controls and handling

I am trying to avoid Glocks because they feel a little too blocky in my hands, and I prefer a single stack magazine but that is something I can work around.

What is everyone's CCW of choice?

I would talk with some of the surplus stores in the area, though I would be hesitant to buy a real belt for ammo. I know the legality issues of CA high capacity magazines, and I think that belts would qualify as "easily converted" to a higher capacity. Just something to consider because I would hate to see you get busted for a high cap mag on your airsoft gun.

I like the slightly more expensive ones (motorola and the like) because they don't break as easy, deal with rain/sweat/tears better

Damn Axis, I know you are used to getting pwned but don't cry all over your gear! That's a waste and you might as well give it to me!

I disagree here with Axis though, I personally think that the small gains you get from using a crappy radio (beyond LOS comms) are counteracted by the fact that you are stuck relying on a cheap 2 way. You are limited in headsets, have less radio channels, and IMO they lead to poorer quality comms. Static and interference really is an issue when you are trying to relay time sensitive data.

talk to roguefox. He has one, and everything I have heard from him about it has been positive.

the key is to make the officer feel in control of the situation before you make any attempt to talk with them or even think about approaching them. They have no idea your playing with toys and they will shoot to kill if that is what is needed to control the situation.

This is seriously incredibly important for anything. The fact is cops have to be on edge anymore, and we as law abiding citizens shouldn't give them any more reason to be on edge then we need to.

I strongly urge people to also start realising that we as airsofters need to keep an eye out for bad situations at places like sasco. I would hate to see a group of airsofters attacked for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. We can't carry our guns on us while playing, and I know that this puts a lot of us at a loss from normal.

Situational awareness is a must, be it during play or at the trucks. Pay attention always.

I definitely like shooting the real thing! Always a good hobby to pick up. Failing that the dirt biking is AMAZING in AZ. Between the coke ovens, box canyon, the forests up north, and all the random desert you can never ride ALL the trails.
