That is an OK first AK47. I have a different JG AK I like and know several peope who use the model you are considering. You may want a sling first off. Any version 3 gearbox accesories will go into it and a tigtbore barrel will be like 455mm unless you get a longer outer barrel, mock silencer, or flash hider to cover it.

A red dot sight would be a good attachment for it. And maybe a folding grip too.

I have an Echo1 AKM for sale in case you are interested :P

plate carrier with pouches. hydration pack/camelbak. a good set of boots. BDUs or other ripstop clothes.

I am also selling an AK... higher priced, but higher quality through and through than the JG.

First spending some money on GOOD gear is worth the investment. I have cammies that have lasted nearly four years now. Next get gear, a tactical vest is well worth the investment because it sets you far apart from everyone else sticking mags in pockets. It also will make life a hell of a lot easier cause it gets your weight onto your midsection instead of pulling on your clothes.

Get mids for magazines, mag AK mids go for under ten bucks a pop and they are normally 140 round capacity. 6 of those is all you should need, and they will work a hell of a lot better then ANY high cap.

Avoid messing with your gearbox or anything else until you have the cash to get good upgrades. Throwing shit into your gun just gets you more shit.

Also don't forget to plan to buy a few batteries, decent bbs, and a GOOD sling. Cheap two point slings (like the ones sold with a lot of guns) don't help you at all. They don't let you carry your gun any better, nor do they create a more stable platform for firing (when you sling in) and if you rely on a shit sling it is going to end up with your gun getting dropped.

Clothing
Gear
Mags
Upgrades

I actually have this gun. I have two high cap 600 round mags, and a 2500 round drum. I have it stock, but I'm going to make it able to pull and m120 spring and also put in a tight bore barrel and I wanted to get a grenade launcher. I was going to get one that does looks like the actual grenade launcher for the AK-47 not the M203. Oh you might want to get a good battery and improve the ROF too. It is not very accurate my green gas pistol is more accurate :( so invest in accuracy and a battery first and then think about external stuff.

Steyraug is right. The 600rd mag will last you more than 1 game without getting any other mags. But invest in mid-cap mags because some games will require you to use them. It's always good to have a variety so that way you can play in any game situation.

If you DO get hicaps, however... all but the most trigger happy people won't use a single AK hicap (the 500-600 round ones) in a game. Midcaps are required at many games, so if you are going to buy new mags, I would just get a box of MAG brand AK midcaps... they're cheap and reliable. Of course, if you don't have a tac vest... carrying midcaps is a giant pain in the @#$. So... get a tac vest.

A pre-built tac vest will usually have a hydration carrier (though they don't usually come with the bladder/drinking tube) integrated into it, while molle plate carriers and such usually require you to buy a separate hydration carrier and attach it. I recommend either of these options. If you can find a pre-built tac vest (i.e. NO molle and all the pouches permanently sewed on) that fits your needs (carries everything you need it to carry), it will end up being lighter and cheaper than buying a molle rig and pouches.

That seems like a good product, seeing as it comes with everything you need. However it does cost a pretty penny.

I were this http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=28_96&products_id=994 and a hydration carrier. The chest rig is really great and carries all the necessities.

The only reason I would think about getting the CIRAS is because it's MOLLE compatible, so you can put whatever pouches you want on it.

Only the long goofy mag brand magzines hold 140rds; they are RPK style mags. The regular Mag brand mid-caps hold ~100. I have them in plum color which is sick and matches my AK74s. I suggest getting them in a box set which is about $50, but with those and a highcap or two, you won't need to ever buy mags for yor AK again. Cammies are also important. Get a good set of BDU pants first, and you can just wear a t-shirt under your chest rig. As for AK chest rigs, an inexpensive suggestion is to look for one of those old chinese/vietnamese AK rigs from a place like cheaperthandirt.com or another military surplus outlet. I got one for $12 there a while ago and it waswell worth it. Another thing I should point out is that regular AK47 mags don't really fit all that well into m4 mag pouches due to thier curve and length. The AK74 style fits a bit better because it is straighter like a Pmag, but still might still get loose without a strap or cover. Have fun picking out your gear!

Make sure to buy a GOOD pair of boots. Don't be cheap when it comes to your feet or you'll pay for it in the long run. Trust me...
