I'm waiting for propane setups...  CO2 has a problem with getting too cold and not keeping shot consistency too well.  That and you get get a bastard load more shots from a propane charge.  AND, they're cheap, available in rather small size - able to fit in a full stock.  The reliability kicks ass too.

CO2 is not on the top of my list for anything.

Real Firearms / FN Herstel PS90 & Saigas coming soon
« on: January 12, 2006, 08:09:39 PM »
I work at TGSCOM (the gun source) and we just saw the first PS90 roll through here and it was NUTS!  I'm not saying we have any because well, we f'in don't.  But they are now being processed by all the major distributors and that 5.7mm 50 round monkey is in the VERY near future.

SAIGAS!!!!  Being processed by US Customs right now, the fucking boat FINALLY got here!  No ETA for public availability beyond ehh.... a month.

FN PS90 = $1,332.72

Saigas = variable between models.

Check 'em out on www.thegunsource.com

Informational Links / KJW M700P Bolt Latch issue fix
« on: January 11, 2006, 03:32:58 PM »
I'm not sure if anyone else had this problem but I ran into a problem with my bolt latch button under the trigger - I found a way around it however.  There is a small, slender piece of metal on the rear left part of the bolt housing that is visable when the bolt is back, if you push down on this part, it will release the bolt from the housing.  Since this is an extension of the latch, it will not harm your gun in any way.  My problem with the button was due to the fact that the button lever was bent slightly, not allowing the button to depress enough to get that latch down far enough.

I hope this is helpful incase anyone else has this problem.  Happy 'softing!

Nevermind the bolt latch problem.  If any of you cannot use the button under the trigger, there's a little metal piece on the rear left of the bolt housing, it's about 2mm wide and it's that silverish metal color, if you push down on it with a small screw-driver you can remove the bolt very easily.  One thing I noticed about the bolt - the finish SUCKS!!!! all sorts of flakey, I may just take that shit down with a dremel and end up with a shiney silver bolt.  It is almost needed due to chipping paint flaking off into the trigger assembly, which could be the original problem with the bolt latch.

Gas Powered Guns / Some KJW M700 "technical" questions
« on: January 10, 2006, 03:29:27 PM »
Bought mine from J.T., I've attempted several times to remove the bolt with no avail (that little button under the trigger might be busted).  I was wondering if there are any odd tricks to that thing, I'd really love to be able to clean the damn thing.  Also, for anyone using green gas with it, what weight BBs do you find most effective and where did you purchase those locally if aquired around here?  Thanks guys.

Use the Farce, and may the penguins be with you!
or some-such-crap...

Introduce Yourself! /

I ended up tearing both the problematic guns apart and making a franken-gun based in the MP5 frame, I would've done it to the M16 but the older AR frames from CA have the most horrible feed problems in the world so the MP5 was the lucky winner of the hybrid Ver.3 gearbox.  However my M16 will not die, rather it will be more or less re-born with these bad-boys applied;

And a new receiver for it with the newer style hopup because the old CA hopup was REALLY buggy the way BBs went into the barrel, feed problems out the ass.

Anyway, I can't wait to get into the game out here with you guys, especially when I get that Systema setup.

two questions:  Where's it at and is it free? lol kinda broke until Thursday.  I might have to fix both my guns tonight, I'm not sure if I can get them both operational for a game without buying new parts.  Pretty sad when a backup needs a backup.

Introduce Yourself! / New to AZ Airsoft scene, old to airsoft
« on: January 07, 2006, 04:45:38 PM »
Well, kind of old - if you take 5 years of airsoft between here and SD old.  Anyway, just looking to meet up with the locals and see if I can't get into some good games around here.

On with the introduction!

I'm Jim, I like long walks on th...... nevermind.  I have a total of 5 guns in my airsoft collection now and roughly 4 full sets of combat gear.  My two AEGs are becoming slightly aged and it's been more than a task to keep up with the reliability issues with a first generation CA M16A4, and I do mean first generation - YEARS!  Not to mention my old AE MP5A4 is coming down with a case of the old and creeky.  I'm almost debating throwing new GB's in both of them, completely custom ones at that.  Thank god I still have my M700 and the two pistols but those just keep me out of my realm a little too much- assault.

My armory:

CA M16A4
AE MP5A4
KJW M700
WE Hi-Capa
Western Arms Series 70 Gov. Model (1911)

By the way, does anyone happen to have any suggestions about reviving old AEGs or perhaps just grabbing new ones?  It would be very much appreciated.  Thanks.

-Jim
