Title says it all. I am having trouble fitting some brands of magazines, so ONLY MAG mids will be considered.

Airsoft Items WANTED / SR25 and M249 para
« on: January 04, 2012, 10:51:02 AM »
Looking for a CA/A&K style SR25. Price will vary obviously on what you have to offer but at the bare minimum I want all the externals, hop up unit, and gearbox shell, preferably with an intact gear set.

I'd prefer a model without the suppressor, however all offers will be considered. FYI, I can get one brand new for $225 so if you want more than that, please look elsewhere.

For a M249, I'd prefer it to have the gearbox shell, wiring, hop up unit, all externals, and a box mag. I can get one new for $260ish so again, if you'd like more, please look elsewhere.

I don't care about paint jobs, it'll just give me an excuse to add my own.

The only trade items I have are an echo 1 m28, m14 parts, and m4 parts. Anything you need when it comes to those.

Troubleshooting / Re: Echo 1 M28 bolting and firing issue
« on: June 21, 2011, 11:30:56 AM »
In sniper rifles this is known as 'slam firing'. Open up the bolt and look for irregular wear on the piston. Most likely your piston has simply been worn down so much it can't handle the stress any longer. If your sears were the problem it wouldn't even lock back although I'd recommend replacing them with a steel set any way (it takes VSR style). The hop up unit is also VSR style.

Here is a link to upgrade parts for the M28 and no the color of the pistons is irrelevant unless you're creating two seperate bolts for two different fps setups which makes the colored piston a helpful spot check: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/catalogsearc ... +&x=10&y=8

The m28 is NOT crap, its just a plastic piston in a sniper rifle and pot metal sears can only take so much stress. Beyond the sears, piston, and spring guide, there is nothing I'd personally consider replacing on the gun. (I know people have troubles with the magazines, but this is because of them not aligning the body screws correctly).

Hope that helped?

P.S. Damn! Those full cylinder setups are CHEAP!

General Airsoft Discussion / Re: Where do you get your Green Gas
« on: June 21, 2011, 11:18:23 AM »
Order a propane adapter or purchase one from a local store. The propane tanks hold more gas, are cheaper, and every so slightly higher pressure which increases your fps by a bit (not drastically so).

Just make sure you don't get ripped off (shouldn't be paying more than 30 bucks total for one including tax and/or shipping) and also make sure you squirt silicon oil into the top of the propane tank every time you use it to keep your seals lubed as propane is dry.

Using a propane adapter for gas guns is like using lithium batteries for AEGs. There's just no reason not to switch and once you do you'll never go back.

Thank you. The fade and rip factors were what I was mainly concerned about. Both sets of mine and my brother's old Tru Specs faded really quickly. The new ones seem to be doing fine, however my brother's ripped at the crotch...

P.S. Does anyone know where I can get tops and bottoms in Multicam for cheap? I'd actually prefer BDU style rather than ACU as I'm not a fan of velcro or zippers.

Ah, good idea! Thanks! I do have a MARPAT shirt for hot weather, but I'll look into a multicam as well. Probably may even go with an under armor shirt even if its only in tan/OD.

Working in a meat cooler really screws with my body's ability to handle heat.

AEG's / Re: Weapon Photos Discussion

I'm just not a fan of the new trend with aluminum barrels. I tried madbull, didn't like it, and have since been sticking with CA and Prometheus stainless steel barrels.

I just don't like the idea of an aluminum barrel since its more likely to be worn, warped, bent, etc. than a brass or steel barrel. Just my personal preference, not forcing it on anyone.

The stock barrel was made out of very light weight metal and just felt like junk (reminded me of a madbull). I did the same with my ICS M4. I've always had good experiences in terms of accuracy with aftermarket Classic Army barrels. To only reinforce my experience, this article, http://www.6millimeter.info/joomla/inde ... &Itemid=42, proves that its actually one of the most consistently shaped bores on the market.

As for the motor, I kid you not, it out performs my ICS Turbo on a sp120 with 7.4v 3300mAh 30c battery in terms of RoF. I was very surprised. Trigger response is about the same. I've also chucked them to the side until I finally got some good lipo's. Seems they are just greedy little buggers and need a ton of amps before they show their true nature.

I found this even more puzzling as my ICS M4 motor performed far better in trigger reponse and RoF than the stock motor on stock spring in my L85. And it definitely is running a m120ish spring as it chronographed at 385fps w.20gram bb.

I stopped asking questions and just went with it.

But yeah, honestly the only thing I didn't hate about CA's was the accuracy. Sure the hop up was usually lacking, but almost every classic army I've ever shot was superb in terms of accuracy. If only the internals could actually put out more than 1k cycles before developing some random issue.

The moment I held my ICS L85 though, I knew from that moment I'd never buy from another brand. Just too much of a hassle to work on other brands when something breaks.  ](*,)

Us Sunday people usually start at 7 or 8a.m. and play till' 11 or 12 depending on weather. In the cooler months we start as late as 9 or 10a.m.

Also, I highly recommend against sniping. I've tried it and its just too small of a field with too much going on to make it worth while. DMRs do work well and I frequently use my KJW 1911 in the brush and get a lot of kills with it.

And to answer the off-road question, if you take the correct entrance and are smart, you'll be fine.

My number is 602-820-4972 (message or call) or you can PM to see if there's a Sunday game going on. I'm in contact with the majority of the Sunday Players. Also, these games are very laid back. I do not recommend coming looking for anything other than some easy-going friendly airsoft with lots of people using hicaps and not many scenarios other than team death match/slayer with one respawn. There are no bunker rules, however most of us don't spawn kill and will call out if bunkered.

Numbers vary from 10 to as many as 25 with usually 15 being the typical number of people on Sundays at least. The field plays best with about 16 people, less than ten or more than 20 and it gets too crazy. Both the Saturday and Sunday groups are fun and we all know each other. You'll feel very welcome.

We also usually have a good amount of Helmet Cam Videos and High Quality Photos if my cousin and I remember to bring our cameras. We can burn CDs/upload photos/etc. on request.

P.S. If someone could PM me numbers for the Saturday games I'd appreciate it. I didn't know you guys played that frequently and sometimes my work schedule would make Saturday games more preferable.

AEG's / Re: Gradual Gearbox Lock up-Version 3.
« on: June 15, 2011, 06:45:39 PM »
Its a matter of actually having the torque in his system to pull it back. Reliability is based on the actual quality of the gears.

However there is also the factor of his current flow to his motor. With enough amps you can pull anything on just about any motor and gear combination.

So, what gearset are you planning on using? Also what motor and what battery do you use?

AEG's / Re: WTF is this?
« on: June 15, 2011, 06:34:12 PM »
I've been working on AEGs for about six years now and not once have I seen a need for a fuse. Typically they die after a part is broken, for no apparent reason, or they don't even blow and you're still back at square one.

As for the car analogy, I fail to see your point. Now if I was going into the field without bringing a spare AEG/cleaning rod/etc. on hand in case my primary went down, then yes I could see how the tire analogy might apply.

Now if you're running some sort of expensive MOSFET or other electronic components in your AEG, then yes, I could see the need. Beyond that, no I refuse to waste money on them.

Thank you, that was exactly what I was looking for. So the Tru Spec's are good quality or should I shell out the cash for the more legitimate manufacturers?

Is there any real advantage going with the real spec stuff? Aside from fading slightly faster over time, I've had zero issues with my MARPAT Tru Spec replicas.

I'm attempting to slowly turn my rag-tag group of Sunday airsofters into a team and my first step is switching from MARPAT to Multicam and making M4 mags both standards for the team. During this phase I'll also attempt to organize them into an assault team, fire team, weapons team, and sniper/recon team. Also I use an L85A2 and since the British version of multicam hasn't hit the market, this is as close as I'll get.

Anyway, my questions about multicam are as follows.

Is there a certain disdain/stigma associated with these?

Are these allowed at most if not all games as an acceptable uniform?

Does Multicam work in super green environments such as Michigan? (I go there ever summer and its important that these at least work).

Have you ever personally had an experience with multicam that made you feel its was a useless pattern?

If we purchase these, what brand should be go with and where might I locate them for a good price online?

If you have any other information to provide in regards to multicam I'd appreciate it. Most of the hits on google have made me feel as though this is a working camouflage in enviroments in Arizona as well as Michigan, however I know cameras just don't work the same as the human eye.

Short term this is a problem, long term? I doubt it. Prices will rise with drama, and lower once this all cools down, regardless of whether or not this bill passes. Its not like there aren't other port cities on the West Coast or other Western cities for the companies to move to. Yes I know its more convenient in Cali, but its not impossible. Sure it may cost time and money, but its going to hurt the state more than any of these companies.

Ditto, being non-competitive and more towards mil-sim is why I play airsoft. The equipment is just an added bonus. But hey, if that's what you guys like, then go for it. Just means more public and therefore market focus on airsoft in the good kind of way.
