FINALLY GOT THE MOTOR :D.....and it wont work. D:
« on: April 01, 2012, 03:47:39 PM »
So I bought a Matrix high torque motor to up the ROF in my m4 right? So i drop the thing in there and no shooty shooty happens. GAHH! I put it in and was carefully adjusted the thing to the right "depth" but it would not turn the gearbox, and when I decreased the "depth" of the motor it screamed at me, because it was grinding.

I took it out and looked at it and the plastic bottom on the motor broke, however with some careful gluing i seem to have fixed the problem. but it still wont work. so I think the head of the motor might not be at the right angle. I tried to put a G&G motor head on it, but the shaft of the motor is a half moon shape...

so any thoughts? I am using a 9.6 and i use two different fully charged batteries but maybe they dont have the power to turn the motor? slinky gave me a G&G motor that turn its just fine with the 9.6 though.

I need your help guys.

Not enough power or the gear box is locked up.

Some back story would help.

Did it work before
How is the wire  ie. Stock with tamayo  plugs
Is it a new motor or just new to you

As you say (slinky gave me a G&G motor that turn its just fine with the 9.6 though).

Sounds like that is the problem, slinky's motor works yours doesn't...

Sounds like time for another motor, check with slinky, spazz or Gearbox...

You know what, I just had a Matrix high speed installed that gave me the same problems. Turned out it was machined wrong and had to be fixed with a dremel. So I dunno, maybe they're turning out a batch of lemons now.

sorry it took so long to respond guys, busy busy.

ANYWAY, yes i have the freaky stock tamyo plugs but very low res wiring. I bought dean plugs but they are tiny! I bought the small type thinking that was what everyone used but they are seem pretty small.
and yes the motor is brand new, just got it a few days ago.
help me guys!

Have you tried it in another AEG that you know is working? If it works in that one, then there might be a problem with your M4. If it just doesn't work, then you probably got a bad motor.

Your very low resistance wiring is doing absolutely nothing when combined with the Tamaya plugs.

throw the motor slinkey gave you that worked back in. if it works fine after that its the motor, if not then its the gearbox locked up.

the one slinks gave me works just fine.

and im trying to get the new motor in but for some reason it wont fit down in it right. i think it has something to do with the spring thing on the motor.

so should i put in the deans and see what explodes?

Does the new motor work out side of the gun............
Make sure. The polarity is right so the motor will spin the right way .

Either that or you are shorting out the circuit every time you tighten the grip end. Take the handle off and check for smashed or cut up wires. Those pinion head gears on new motors are sharp and can cut the wiring inside the gearbox too.

Have you put the motor side-by-side with a known-good motor and checked length? Because like I said earlier, I bought a Matrix high-speed motor a couple weeks back, and it was machined too long to fit in my gearbox and had to be manually trimmed.

nope its not that, i have had that happen before but this is not one of those times.

Have you tried removing all the compression parts piston, spring, spring guide, etc. and just running it with gears only? If it works outside the gearbox, works inside with no load, but doesn't work with a spring and piston, your motor is just a dud. I had similar problems with some old CA and JG motors that were fried.

I say either get a replacement or install a new one if it continues to give you trouble. No sense wasting all your time and effort into one stupid little motor when you can get a replacement for so cheap. Also get rid of those tamiya connectors. The deans (and even the knock-off t-plug) connectors are a million times better in every way providing you solder them on correctly. The overall size isn't what matters, there is just so much more surface area on those deans connectors of good metal vs. those crappy tin tamiya connectors that fall out or burn up.

Lol i signed up to just get more info on some fields in phx but ill answer your question. First if it was me Id return the motor and I wouldnt get another one. Matrix makes some nice stuff motors is not one of them. There motors are some of the crappyest systema copies on the market. Personally I stay away from anything in airsoft if its a copy of something else they tend to be crappy. Personally Id suggest Element ultra torque motor If you look around you can find it for 32shipped and it is an amazing motor that I would put above a system hi torque motor. Currently running in my g&g f2000 pulling a m140 spring like its nothing.

If your hell bent on keeping the motor I would check the contacts for the motor and make sure its not shorting the motor. Try warping them twice with ele tape and see if that can help. Matrix motors are known for shorting out you should have done a goggle search tons of people with your problem or just getting DOA units.

Second half these people telling you to get a deans are just passing stupid info on as though they know anything about why deans have better current and how they have better current. To be bunt there is no way in hell you changing plugs is going to fix this problem. Also a 9.6 well pull that motor and if you used other 9.6's then its the motor is crap never buy matrix motors I got one in a gun a bought and had nothing but problems until i replaced
