General Airsoft Game Discussion / Re: The problem with airsoft
« on: August 10, 2014, 08:49:00 PM »
Well, an acre isn't a ton of space, but it's a start. If you can get some decent props/cover set up, and actually attract enough people, I think this has potential. Also, depending on the location, this could be a more viable option for people who can't travel as far. Most of the big games I see on YouTube are happening in Virginia, and let's face it: that ain't happening. The community has the numbers. We have the gear, and we have the land. If we can get the word out (like these fine fellows: http://www.airsoftarizona.com/index.php?topic=37994.0), then we may have a chance of putting on something epic.

TL;DR- Put the work in, and it could be great.

I've never even been to Vanguard, and I passionately dislike them. Fightertown is great. The owner, Henry, is a great part of the community, and is very friendly.

1. Just got my new work schedule, and Wednesday nights are perfect for me. Expect to see me before too long.

2. Does Fightertown have bio BBs on site for purchase? If so, how much are they? TIA

General Airsoft Discussion / Re: VIP AIRSOFT SUCKS

I'm glad I found this thread when I did. VIP has been sending me e-mails for some time now, and I was nearing the point where I may have actually taken a visit. If it's as bad as y'all say, I'll gladly keep my distance. I don't feel like breaking my brand-new (albeit beginner's) gun with crabby BBs, having my stuff stolen, or getting yelled at for no reason.

Thanks for the warning!  ;D

Greetings!

Name's Will (but y'all can call me Starr, if ya like). I've had an interest in airsoft for about 3 days now. I've been researching it during that time (so I'm basically an expert), and think it's something I'd like to pursue in earnest (finances permitting). My first gun is in the mail (cyma CM028 AEG AK47), along with mask, ammo, 1 extra high cap mag, and some other bits and baubles, jus' 'nuff tah get me started.

I'm joining the website because it seems like y'all have a pretty active group here, and that'll make it easy to find nearby games/events. There's not a lot happening in my immediate vicinity (hour west of Phoenix), so I'll be needing all the help I can get.

See you in the field!

*EDIT Okay, it's not technically my first gun. But it's my first gun I wouldn't be embarrassed to be seen with.
