Zombieland and Terminator: Prophecies April 30/May 1
« on: January 03, 2011, 01:40:49 PM »
Marauders Airsoft is in the planning stages of a two day airsoft adventure weekend at the MTT Urban Assault Course.   This thread has been created to answer questions and generate ideas for the upcoming event.

On Saturday, April 30, players can fight the undead in Zombieland, the Marauders' sequel to our popular Left For Dead game held at Vanguard Indoor Playground.  On Sunday, join the fight agains the machines in Terminator: Prophecies.

Zombieland  April 30 (9 am - 10 pm or later?)
The story continues as a group of soldiers and private military contractors have escaped the BioDefense Research Lab.  These survivors must now fight their way through to safety through the undead and civilians who are barricaded in the infested city.  Unlike the slow zombies that these survivors just faced in the research lab, these dead are fast and hungry!

Join one of two groups for a full day of zombie killing!

US Special Operations Search and Rescue (12 spaces)
Uniform (ACU/DCU) with Tactical Vest and Hat or Helmet
AEG with Non-Winding Magazines

Civilian Survivors (48 spaces)
Civilian Clothing
Gas/Spring Pistols or Shotguns
Foam or Soft Plastic Melee Weapons

May 1 Terminator: Prophecies (9 am - 4 pm)
The second day of the weekend features a brand new Marauders Airsoft adventures based upon the popular Terminator movie series.
Terminator: Prophecies takes place approximately 6 years after Judgement Day.  Hiding out in the Nevada desert, John Connor and a specially trained unit have survived repeated assaults by Skynet's Hunter Killer teams and T-600's.  During one of these assaults, a pair of T-600 terminators discovered audio tapes that contained the late Sarah Connor's messages to her son.  These tapes are a record of the rise of the resistance, human survival strategies, and a list of important Resistance leaders and battles to come as told to Sarah by John Connor's father, Kyle Reese.

Fortunately for the Resistance, the T-600's were destroyed prior to uploading these audio files to Skynet during the battle. Skynet has dispatch multiple Hunter Killer teams into the area to recover the data files from the damaged T-600's.

Join one of two teams for Terminator Prophecies to fight the machines.

Military Resistance Forces (36 spaces)
Uniform - ACU, Woodland, MARPAT, DCU
AEG's with non-winding magazines
M203 Grenade Launchers

Connor's Survivors* (16 spaces)
Civilian Clothes/Paramilitary Equipment
AEG's with non-winding magazines
*Connors Survivors will be required to attend a specialized training program designed to prepare them for war against the machines with limited weapons.

Admission Zombie Land/Terminator: Prophecies

Excitement and Ideas...
Terminator sounds pretty neat!  That Universe would be perfect for airsoft.  I can imagine squads trying to evade the terminators while trying to setup and deploy special weapons to get em.  I'm definately interested in attending this one!  I can imagine guys [terminators] padded up in motocross/hockey armor covered with shredded clothes or cloaks.  Check out these terminator helmets... they look airsoft friendly, with glasses underneath, and would add some neatness with the glowing eyes, there are ironman equivalents in walmart right now and they seem like they are thick enough to handle airsoft.

This with a black hooded cape over some padding.... money!  Also there are some some cheaper regular terminator face masks... search ebay for terminator mask.  I can already see the cluster... when a terminator walks around the corner and everyone flees like roaches when you turn on the lights!

In the past our staff has made exceptions for players on the day of the event, however, the goals of the prepay system were designed to have players visit our sponsors and help the staff get solid numbers for game design, vehicle expenses, and raffle prizes. Unfortunately, this system has not worked well in AZ and the event guidelines will no longer be modified.
-From BHD: Battle of Mogadishu Jan. 16th at Fighter Town

I think why some people don't prepay is because the only place to preregister lately is at Gearbox, which is a forty minute drive there for me and other people who live in Peoria, Glendale, and other areas more western in the valley. Command Post was a very convenient place for me to register for BHD back in the summer. Another place to pre-register would be very helpful and I think it might help MTT some of the numbers you are looking for in pre-registration. Just my idea  [smilie=armata_pdt_01.gif]

Edit: Oh and you guys do have online registration but paypal is kind of a pain for me and I know of quite a few people don't have it (suprisingly with Ebay!).

If the PMCs and US troops evcuated the facility and survived, why wouldnt there be a pmc unit for this game or some kind of joint NATO operaton idea. I know the spec ops community wear almost whatever they want within reason and they all fall under SOCOM which has members from every service. So why not allow other camoflauge alternitives for the zombie game like there are for the terminator game? This way if camping on site is available those playing both games could bring less (or more for those who like to change it up) gear/uniforms, for the games? By the way is camping available? Some of us have a long trek for that particular game site.

Here are some answers to the questions:

Why isn't there a PMC team?  During the first Left for Dead, none of the PMC's survived without infection.  Only four members of the US SPEC OP's team survived.  Secondly, an extraction team of additional soldiers/airmen have been inserted into the area to retrieve the survivors and objectives captured from the BioDefense Facility.

The civilian survivors can wear pretty much any pattern or clothing at the game.

Camping will be allowed for all participants.

If I may make a suggestion, I feel like a zombie/Terminator game would play better in an open environment.
